After the captain's shuttle returned to the Shadow Spear, the captain entered the bridge. *To a lieutenant* "Warm up the inter stellar drive, prepare to receive coordinates from the Professor." *His Commander turned and started to speak to the captain** "Sir, what happened to that other vessel, the Invisible?" "I'm sure you were monitoring the comm exchange between the Valiant and Captain Yilne...seems something was stolen. Evidently the people on the Valiant most certainly mean business." "Yes Sir." "I must say I don't really trust that Commander Roam, seems to be a shifty character. The Professor's harder to read, seems to be constantly in fear of...something." "We should certainly watch ourselves, Sir." "That certainly goes without saying." *The lieutenant then spoke up* "Interstellar drive warmed up sir, awaiting coordinates..."
-
Mmmm, graphs. Statistics. And of course every year or so we'll need to have all of these updated!
-
"Keehl, contact the Valiant and ask them if we can dock one of our shuttles in their strike craft bay. I'd rather not dock the entire ship in case that corvette comes back with more friends." "Aye Sir, signalling the Valiant." *The Shadow Spear signals the Valiant asking if one of their small shuttles can dock within the Valiant's strike craft bay to bring the captain aboard.*
-
The Captain surveyed the destroyed wreckage of the corvette they'd attacked. "Good shooting men. Doesn't look like the other ships in the group are doing so bad either." One of the bridge officers announced "Sir, one of the Corvettes is pulling away!" "Let it go, keep covering the Valiant, target that Corvette approaching her with maximum firepower, I don't want it to get too close to the Professor." "Aye Sir!" *The Shadow Spear manoeuvres in to position, targets and opens fire on the Corvette approaching the Valiant*
-
The uncloaking of the vessels and it quickly being evident that they were hostile, the bridge of the Shadow Spear was at battlestations, with the captain at the center of it all, muttering under his breath..."Damn, we've barely left the dock and already people seem to be after the old Professor..."*to the bridge crew*"Alright, we're not cloaking our way out of this one, whilst we're visible we're a target other than the Valiant, not that it seems to be making much of a difference, they're bearing down on them. Target the corvette nearest to the Valiant and as soon as you have weapons lock, open fire. Lets melt them to slag." A chorus of "Aye Sir"'s echo'd around the bridge. Moments later the Shadow Spear opened fire with its heavy cannon on the corvette nearest the Valiant.

Captain Tagon and his escorts reached the Shadow Spear and entered a code of some sort on his wrist-mounted communicator. The air-lock door unsealed and opened allowing the captain and his escorts to enter. A panel inside the air-lock allowed him to reseal the outer door and open the inner one. An officer was waiting for him. Tagon spoke first, "Lieutenant, anything to report?" "No Sir, although we did keep an eye out for anything odd; we have quite the collection of ships here, Sir." "I know, some of them will almost certainly try to stab us in the back at some point..." "Indeed. Also Sir, we noticed one female investigating multiple ships docked here. She had a few looks at our ship, but as per your orders the air-lock remained sealed until you returned." "Good job, good job. Anyway, we'd best be off, the Professor will be waiting for us." *The captain motioned his escorts to move along and proceeded along a route to the bridge with the Lieutenant.* The Lieutenant chose this moment to clarify a few things; "So we're going ahead with the job then, Sir?" "Yeah, I have a hunch it could be the big break we've been looking for." "The big one? You're sure?" "I am, the Professor's done well at laying down his intrigue though, but I'm certain he was holding back at that meeting, seeing who would take immediate interest. He says he's going to send me his thesis on it." "His thesis, sir?" "Indeed." *The lieutenant grinned, "Nothing like a good bit of light reading, right Sir?" The captain squinted at him in a friendly way, just as the two made their way on to the bridge. The Commander Pearce made his way towards the Captain, "The engine's are warmed up and ready for departure on your orders Sir." "Very well Commander. Helm, take us out." With a quick 'Aye Sir', the helmsman tapped away at the controls and the ship rumbled as it left and made its way in to orbit. The captain then turned to Pearce and handed him his datapad, "Have the communications data on this patched in to the ship's communications computer. We should be receiving a signal from the Professor soon." The Commander took the datapad and said simply, "On it Sir."

Who Made Their 11/11/11 11:11 wish?
Lord Sinister replied to Collective Foal's topic in Free-For-All
That came off as though you were upset with me. I still have total respect for those who serve our nation (I plan on doing so myself), but I can still do something silly and superstitious as a result of the date and the cultural superstition to it. You can still be serious on a strange day and act strange on a serious day. I do think it seems a little disrespectful for this particular event to think of one's self rather than to think of soldiers who have died, however the culture surrounding this event probably differs from country to country. -
Who Made Their 11/11/11 11:11 wish?
Lord Sinister replied to Collective Foal's topic in Free-For-All
I made no wish, I thought about fallen soldiers. It's supposed to be a moment of remembrance, for those who gave their lives so that we might live. -
On the forum I believe it was an administrator account (a Valve developer or so I heard) that was compromised. If the PC of that admin was compromised then there is a distinct possibility they may have had access to other information. Who knows. We have no idea how Valve have their network set up. Forum accounts and Steam accounts are entirely separate, but that doesn't mean their servers are not, say, in the same building. Perhaps Valve will release more information on what they know in the near future.

They're not. :\ However the infiltration that occurred went deeper than the forums and potentially compromised other stuff as well. It's all in the message.

The game is getting massively favourable reviews across the board for PC, 360 and PS3. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim

"Very well Professor, I look forward to reading your thesis. We're in." The captain stands up, then nods at the professor in a respectful manner and simply says "Professor," and then turned and left the bar followed by his escorts. On his approach to his ship, the Shadow Spear, he activated his wrist mounted communicator, "Commander, prepare the ship for take off, we're returning to the ship." A single "Aye sir" was the reply.

Captain Tagon looks thoughtful, then says "Just asteroids hm? Fair enough although I have some more questions; how do we know the wreck is still there? Or this golden planet? It'll be risky getting there sure, but how do we know others haven't already made off with the wreck or its cargo? And just what is this golden planet? Just how long have you spent researching this and why is it mythical? I'm sure I'm not alone here in wanting to know as much about what we're in for as possible..."
-
Captain Tagon, whose attention has remained on the professor rather than the newcomers (unlike his escorts), analysing his words, narrowed his eyes..."Professor, I don't believe I've ever heard of this ship before...or this supposed 'golden planet'. You say the ship disappeared, and you believe it's wrecked. Can you give us any more than that to go on? Disappeared under what circumstances? Do you have any idea what they ran in to? I'd rather avoid my ship meeting the same fate..."
-
Captain Tagon takes a seat, the men flanking him stand either side of his chair, looking around the place and upon the others in the room.

I once tried out this game briefly with some other friends. It seemed like near 100% rage and belittlement of teammates, I didn't enjoy the experience and haven't played it since. This was about a year ago.

TF2 character's names WTF?
Lord Sinister replied to Jek Jek Roo's topic in Valve Games / Valve Stuff
What, the official wiki? I can't see the name 'Achille Tristram' mentioned on that page. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Spy Don't trust the other one (tf2wiki.net), it's full of spam. I'd actually go as far as to say that some wiki pages of that last site unsafe (it had been greatly abused the last time I checked) so this isn't a clickable link. -
Captain Tagon then enters, flanked by a couple of men with holstered weapons of some sort. He then strolls towards the professor. "I hope you don't mind these..." *he gestures to the two security escorts* "...assuming you're the Professor?"

Keep a fly swatter on your person at all times. Splatter the vermin.

My TF2 server is still up and running if people want to play on it. Trouble is, since registering the server with Valve (part of the thing that allows gifts to drop and the server to get chosen in match making), it's been full LOADS. I literally might have to turn it off so friends can actually play on it.

AMD's new FM1 socket and A series processors
Lord Sinister replied to \\Vincent Vega's topic in Computer Hardware
Next time try not to post about them, just report them and leave them be. The post will get cleaned up. As for the topic subject, I don't really know anything about those processors. I'm not currently looking to buy computing equipment so I'm not really up to date on these things. -
I'll be some human guy, aiming for a stealthy approach and liberating as many of the populace from their coinage as possible.

Sounds cool to me. I'm currently idling the IRC as well.

Nuts to it, I'm going to pre-order this!

Has anyone here ever coded in C++ with the Windows API?
Lord Sinister posted a topic in Free-For-All
If so I have a few questions. Plus for anyone interested this might make for some interesting discussion. I'm basically wondering just how much stuff I should put in my WinProc function. Or whether I should try and keep it as lean as I can.
