  1. Believe it or not, I edited my post to ADD that comma after I'd made it. I obviously wasn't concentrating, it's now been moved to the position it was supposed to be in.
  2. Grim Reaper. And personally I believe there is insufficient data to draw any valid conclusions as to who the G-Man really is. We may (or may not) find out in the next Half-Life game.
  3. I 'think' he's speaking about a hypothetical scenario where Gordon runs in to Dr Kleiner (although I thought Mark Laidlaw said that was supposed to be who was with Eli at the beginning of Half-Life just after the accident?), who is armed, and refuses to shoot him BUT if he does, Kleiner insta-kills him with a headshot. The OP then appears to be requesting ideas which I guess means he wants us to build upon this initial (somewhat crazy) scenario in some way.

  7. Banned because this is boring...lets fight! (I get your reference ).
  8. I saw that video earlier today on Kotaku and thought it was pretty awesome but also nuts. I believe similar manoeuvers have been done on previous Battlefield games such as Battlefield 2.
  9. Chin.
  10. Banned for banning someone for the unrelenting use of napalm.
  11. I could be mistaken here, but isn't it supposed to vvis before it gets to vrad? Also, I could be mistaken again, but if memory serves you could set how detailed shadows are on particular surfaces. Have you messed around with that at all? EDIT: Some googling suggests that it could be an issue with lighting on a brush that has too many faces. You could try turning complex brushwork for things such as stairs in to func_detail entities.
  12. Banned for daring people to be naughty.
  13. Maybe I made it too. EDIT: Damn.
  14. It depends on your tastes I guess, it's a vast issue. I'm not really a fan of the original series, but I quite like one of the movies that followed it; I particularly enjoyed Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The Voyage Home was a little strange but not too bad either. In terms of series, I probably like the Next Generation the most, although there are a fair few episodes in it that I don't like. There are also a lot of episodes in it I do like. I think there are at least a few episodes of it I haven't seen though. As for the films that follow, they were okay, although First Contact is the one I prefer the most. Star Trek Voyager is quite good as well, being from the same sort of 'era' as TNG. I've not seen all of the episodes for this either, in fact proportionally I've seen a lot less of Voyager than I have of TNG. The premise is also quite different which is nice. I've not seen Deep Space 9, what little information I know about it has put me off watching it. It sounded like it contained most of the elements that I disliked in the episodes of TNG I disliked. That said, it does apparently have an interesting story ark which involves some sizeable battles or some such. Finally with Enterprise, I'm aware this series polarised a lot of fans. In general I enjoyed it, but like with TNG and Voyager, there were episodes I both liked and disliked. The only reason I mention the 'there were episodes I liked and disliked' thing frequently here, is that having seen Stargate SG1, Atlantis and the Battlestar: Galactica remake, I liked virtually all of the episodes in those series', with only a select few episodes I didn't like. Finally, with the new movie 'Star Trek', it's a great movie which I enjoyed. It's a reboot, with the characters of the original series but a new cast. I'm quite interested in seeing where they go with this. I realise I haven't really recommended a starting point here, I'm hoping someone more in to Star Trek than I am can do that, but hopefully I've helped somewhat in giving you an idea of things. My problem was that the link didn't send me to that page, I just got sent to the index. Anyway, I'm only about 1 hour or so into it and so far I can only find a single fault... When you get to choose whether you're going into the military, navy etc. and you get to choose your postings I wish you'd actually be able to go and participate in the postings as it seemed there were actually a few scenarios that sounded pretty awesome. Do you know whether there's a mod that adds some of those to the game? Odd, the link didn't do that for me, it worked just fine when I tried it. As for the mod question, I've no idea I'm afraid, I never modded the game beyond getting it to run on Windows Vista and in widescreen. I can only suggest searching the mods and forums on that website for possible solutions.

  20. I fear the spirit of the festival may have been lost at this point.
  21. System Shock 2 is a very old game. System Shock is even older. Bioshock was System Shock 2's spiritual successor. The game is very old now, but if you can look past the dated graphics, it's fantastic. Here's the intro to System Shock 2: tQvfEHXbSDg
  22. Yeah, that's the site I was using. But if you click the link to download it just sends you to the index, regardless of web browser etc. but I did find a good version eventually with the help of Google and now I'm playing some SS2 Ah nice one. I'm not sure what you were doing wrong, I was able to download the attachment from the post it links to just fine (right here at the bottom of the first post if you want to check you have that version, assuming it's the latest version). Either way, if this is your first time playing, enjoy!
