I highly recommend you focus on getting a job. Any job, at this point. Working checkouts at a supermarket would be adequate. At which point, save your money. Pay any allowance your parents demand for you to continue living there, providing it is an appropriate amount (and not something silly like all your money). The remaining money you should keep in your own account that only you have access to. Save it, and do not give in to the demands of anyone that you should spend it for their needs.

Indeed. Whilst I own the previous two on Steam, if it's only on Origin then I guess I'll play it on Origin!

That's half of my internet cap (I hate how New Zealand has internet caps), I can only download 40GB per month and have to pay extra when over that cap. I believe it's $30 per extra 10GB I use over that. I know exactly how you feel, that's the same cap as I have at home. Fortunately I'm at University right now, but home internet... Still, it's not so bad as it's only 1mb (ie around 125KB/s) so large downloads take longer and the cap gets used up at a slower rate. If the cap gets breached though, we don't get charged extra. The download rate simply gets limited to something silly like 0.5KB/s. It's almost impossible to browse web pages, but Steam chat works.

I'm actually directly south of ABG so we have the same time zone. Sorry, I was referring to the people ABG specifically mentioned in his post above my one. I should have been more specific, obviously some of us will be from the same timezones.

Ah yes, the PC release of Alan Wake. I'm looking forward to that as well. Also looking forward to Metro: Last Light, as Metro 2033 was excellent. Mass Effect 3 as well, I might actually buy this one on release rather than waiting for it to go down in price as I really enjoyed Mass Effect 2 when I purchased it late last year. Then there's also Bioshock Infinite which is looking most intriguing...

Do you know what the custom skin is called? Once it's re-downloaded stuff, specifically check the folders I specified and see if the skin files are there. If they are, then it may be Steam cloud being strangely awkward. Alternatively something else is going on. It's referring to the Team Fortress 2 GCF files in your steamapps folder.

For a game like CSS, go to Steam/steamapps/$yourAccountName and locate the 'counter-strike source' folder. Delete that entirely to reset everything including your key bindings and so on, although the Steam cloud might restore it, not certain on that one. For more detailed disposal, go to the cstrike folder in the 'counter-strike source' folder. Delete the materials folder, the models folder, the sounds folder and the resource folder. I think this should thoroughly eliminate any customisations you may have.

Well I think we're all from different timezones. I think my timezone is something like five hours ahead of the US, but I think you have different timezones for different areas of the country so I can't say that with absolute certainty, but it's definitely around five hours. But yea, we're all from different timezones so take your pick!

Well, starting. I woudn't expect any AAA games coming out by me for a while What language(s)?

I believe you're missing the large air cannon the other two scientists were operating.

CIVIL PROTECTION: CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Lord Sinister replied to ekket's topic in Civil Protection
Wasn't too bad, I liked it, although I do think it suffered a little from deadline rushing (that and the issues mentioned in previous news posts). Still, the snowman sequence was amusingly random! The music at 3:11 (although I have a feeling it might be from one of the tracks from Sim City 4 mentioned in the credits) reminded me a little of System Shock 2, which is always good . I just turned my volume up at that point. -
Ah, that video. GLORIOUS SCIENCE AT WORK.

You're a programmer then, Dalipose?

I feel like I have been rushing posts lately, probably because school started and I try to really do good this time and my brain is tired. A worthy cause for a few small mistakes. Just a quick digression: I'm looking for another admin on the AF steam group. Right now is a perfect example of the problem of only having one. I'm at school and I likely won't have access to steam for several hours. Just someone that checks AF often, is active on steam and preferably someone that lives in another time zone so we're covered if Ross decides to make a post at midnight just to mess with me. I'd be happy to help if you want! I often am set to appear offline on Steam, but it is almost always running. I'm in a different timezone too.

Personally, I just try to use common sense. Generally this forum is nice and relaxed.
