How do you put custom content in Garry's Mod?
Lord Sinister replied to Brian234's topic in Technical Source Engine Stuff
I'm sorry, but this post really wasn't helpful in this thread at all (he was asking how, not what), especially as the thread issue is already solved and hadn't been posted in for over a month. You shouldn't have felt compelled to post this here JUST to fill up the forum front page with your name. -
I've just done some Googling and I cannot find anything on the double-damage stuff you mentioned, Axeldeath. Do you have a link to where you got this information?
-
The developers have stated in the past that the stuff you will be able to buy in the game will facilitate different playstyles rather than paying for outright advantages to win. If there is a double damage upgrade or item of some kind (I'll have to look this up as I've not heard anything about it) I would assume it also has some appropriate downside like with TF2's items, which would be a useful model to follow.

It is a common misconception that Macs do not or cannot get viruses. I would advise you not to make that mistake.

It's only a matter of time until it attains sentience. -
Deus Ex Movie! OMG! "CBS Films to adapt 'Deus Ex' videogame"
Lord Sinister replied to HLPrincess's topic in Gaming in general
Just the original, haven't played Human Revolution yet. I was thinking Invisible War was retconned because from what I've heard, it sucks, but if it's technically still in the canon I wanna try that one out, too. I played a bit of Invisible War a while back but never finished it. I do not recall it being a bad game, but once I've finished replaying the original I'll have a crack at it and let you know what I make of it. -
Potential Ubisoft UPlay exploit issue
Lord Sinister replied to Lord Sinister's topic in Gaming in general
Ubisoft have apparently swiftly issued a patch: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/07/31/coding-error-caused-uplay-exploit/ -
I got it, I was referring to Chuck's sample, he sent me a new one. Sorry for the confusion. Would you recommend the pre-amp that you're using? Well it's the only preamp I've ever used, but I've had no problems with it whatsoever.
-
I sent you an email on the 26th with an audio clip of me talking normally and then briefly yelling, but it may have been buried under other emails if you get lots on a daily basis.
-
It's not off-topic if it's what you're doing right now, and it's certainly not bothering me personally. However, considering it seems to be quite the saga, you might be better off making a separate thread for it all in the "Gaming in general" section, as it's quite interesting to read.

I feel it's worth posting this here in case it affects anyone on this forum: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/07/30/psa-possible-security-risk-in-some-ubisoft-pc-games/ Basically it seems some sort of exploit Ubisoft's DRM utility Uplay. Looks like it's actually in a browser plugin it silently installs with the utility, but the article recommends removing Uplay entirely until things have been cleared up. EDIT: The article's been updated saying that you only need to remove the browser plugin as that is the thing at fault, apparently.

Just caught a spam bot in the act and banned it mid-way through its posting spree (it managed to post one more post as I was banning it, but that was disposed of without mercy).
-
Well there can be no doubt that this is the random thread if the last three pages are anything to go by.
-
Indeed...at least, not a fair fight.
-
Why I'm fine, thanks. You?
-
Still got that stick up your arse then, nice to see not much has changed. Nothing personal. It just bugs me that recently you've taken to acting like a condescending, pessimistic jerk. Forgive me for not liking that very much. Now now both of you, be civil.

Caroline and GLaDOS *SPOILERS GALORE!!!*
Lord Sinister replied to Jusmar's topic in Valve Games / Valve Stuff
I recall the story heavily hinting that Caroline was simply stored as a part of GLaDOS rather than being GLaDOS herself. -
Did it rain at any point? The first picture especially looks like it may have been taken after some rainy shower of some kind.

Deus Ex Movie! OMG! "CBS Films to adapt 'Deus Ex' videogame"
Lord Sinister replied to HLPrincess's topic in Gaming in general
The original or the new one? (Both are excellent! ). We should ALL post here if any of us learn anything more. A good Deus Ex movie would be fantastic! -
Deus Ex Movie! OMG! "CBS Films to adapt 'Deus Ex' videogame"
Lord Sinister replied to HLPrincess's topic in Gaming in general
What a pity the link is invalid now I'll see if I can find anything...Maybe the production went top secret and this was just a leak? EDIT: I've found it on YouTube and if it's the same that you found, this is not the official CBS movie. I wonder if these guys can release their short film if someone bought the rights already :/ It looks really interesting! The PC Gamer link and the Youtube video on its page work fine for me. And people have been doing short films for games etc for a while. Portal related ones, Fallout, Half-Life, Minecraft....this could be something like that, and I've not noticed anyone suing, etc, possibly because of fair use? I'm not a lawyer so I'm not really savy on all this. Also, that video was released ages ago and nothing's happened (as far as I know anyway, I'm pretty sure people would have noticed if an awesome live-action Deus-Ex short film got released ). Plus to the best of my knowledge that stunts company is a fairly big and professional one. I'd say that saying it's for a short film could possibly be some sort of cover-up as they may not have wished to reveal it was for a 'proper' film at that point. It does look a bit too good to be some sort of small short film in my opinion, but you never know. -
The Asus sound card's alleged preamp was nowhere near sufficient for my microphone, so I had to get a separate one.
-
I voted as I did before, that I'm too far away. :
-
The soundtracks for both Oblivion and Skyrim have some particularly nice moments, as well as powerful and grand ones (such as Skyrim's main theme).

I've been hunting for a new boxed copy of the original Halo for a while. I found one place selling it for around £20-£30 new...but is it worth it at that price, considering its age, etc?

The Legend of Zelda: Fridge Brilliance
Lord Sinister replied to mehdawg654's topic in Gaming in general
You should provide more of an explanation here, you can't just post some images with fairly non-descriptive captions and expect people to know what you're on about. Admittedly I've never played a Zelda game, but you should still have an explanation. Otherwise it becomes little more than spam.
