I have to agree with the theory that Valve can wait as long as they want, as long as it takes them to milk the source engine dry, and then release episode 3. Until I see hard proof that Gaben said there'll be something with a "3" in it at E3 (Besides the "3" in "E3") I won't believe it.

All of spore was tedious and boring. A few of the stages were kind enough to end quickly though, so it's not all bad. Most of the stages felt like flash games, indie games or simpler versions of other games. I really dislike the lack of originality and realism. Especially the realism. I mean, spice coming out of the ground and being the only resource in the whole game? And the civilisation stage, god that was sad, it was just about collecting spice and spamming planes in a oversimplified version of Sid Meier's Civilization. I still enjoyed it though, not a bad game, just not a very good one. On the topic of piracy, I won't deny opposing them for their intended purpose rather than a fear of censorship and weakened security. I use FOSS when I can, but sometimes it's just not possible. For instance, I was trying to make and edit a .DDS file in GIMP, but the plugin was either incomprehensibly complicated or didn't work. That's why I have photoshop. It's only CS v8, I don't need CS5, I just need to use one plugin. I'm not making any money off it, and I'm certainly not paying $400. I'm also not going to walk into a store and buy a DVD of My Little Pony, I don't think I could do that. iTunes is a possibility, but I still doubt I would pay for it when there's a free copy on Youtube. A lot of companies do own legitimate rights to the music/movie/software that gets pirated thousands of times, I just don't want to act like a responsible member of society about it.

The relatively small amount of the book I read before complications stopped me had huge symbolism. Everything means something, in the game... dear god. I'm not exactly sure what part of my post you're referring to, but I'll assume it was directed at my lack of tears for ponies. Regardless of what I read/watch, I never look to depress myself. I don't watch colourful animated shows to sadden myself. There's more than enough sources for that. I would at least like to make the things that depress me war crimes or child soldiers, anything along those lines really. It sounds more poetic than "Cupcakes". No offence.

That method doesn't work on certain versions unfortunately. Although with fortify restoration potions you can get game crashing stats. I couldn't get my armor beyond 11,000,000 without crashing the game, but it's still rather useful. The +50,000 skill enchantments must have rolled over though, I can't sneak anywhere anymore.

From what I understand you can only have one alpha channel, so when you edit the minimaps you just get the picture you wanted in a window shaped like the original image. :/ In case normal importing doesn't work, put the files in "Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Your steam ID\team fortress 2\tf\materials\vgui\logos" and then import them

I guess I'll join in. Couldn't hurt, Valve is usually more responsive to their fans than most companies, maybe it'll accomplish something, maybe not.

I originally built my computer for 450 CAD and over the years spent another 250 on a GPU and some overpriced DDR2. It's worked great for me and I'm not thinking about replacing it for another year or so. It was never the best, but it was and is a good computer. You won't get top of the line for £600, but with patience for sales and other deals you can get yourself something quite respectable.

I'm starting to get animated and distance changing sprays, I should have something to show for it by tomorrow.
