  1. In many respects I would agree, but in others I thoroughly disagree... Many recreational drugs are addictive physically, meaning they cause your body to require the drug to continue to function properly, and those should always be banned. The ones that do not do this should be allowed, though with some regulation. (people shouldn't be allowed to give their 3 year old marijuana nuggets, etc.) I don't know.. physical addiction can vary wildly from one drug to the other. People can get minor headaches, bad mood and others from caffeine withdrawal as well as nicotine and they're both legal. (nicotine addiction is considered to be as bad and hard to quit as heroin). I'd like restrictions to be based on how much harm a drug can physically/mentally damage you. Even if studies point that LSD is non-toxic and practically harmless physically at the recreational doses (ranging from 85µg to 600-800µg), it can really screw with your mind if you're not prepared for it. I'd like it to be regulated in some way so you can't drop some acid just by being overage. I don't know how a psychological test would work (kind of like the one used for gun control, but better). Much worse stuff like the experimental crap (Spice products, Krokodil, some Phenethylamines.. ) should be banned. What I'd like is overall drug policies based on science and experiences rather than Nixon's bullshit and the Reefer Madness. (For example, Cannabis is confirmed to affect your mental performance if used HEAVILY before the brain is properly developed (18-20 years) so it should be banned for underage use).
  2. Glad to see you're gonna go for the best option. Advice you didn't ask for:I burned a CPU and a motherboard the first time I built a PC. Why? Well, just don't forget to put the isolating screws on the case before mounting the motherboard!
  3. I predate the forum in this enterprise. Lol. It's bee a great time, gentlemen. *back on topic* if there was a way to adapt n RPD to the lowest quantity of people possible and a gameplay that allowed the topic to have long time intervals in which the players may not post so often.. It could work.
  4. Blue made a RP that worked for a while some time ago. I think it helped that he posted his idea and examples on how to sign up... :B Here's his topic.
  5. ASUS is a pretty well known brand with a very good reputation but I have no idea how their PCs are. They look really decent and the one you picked is powerful enough to run anything that's out right now (although I'd upgrade the RAM, 4 gigs is barely enough for me )
  6. Agree, hunters are amazing. They're awesomely compatible with earth's environnements (way more than the alien grunts) and are much bulkier. Freeman would have had a terrible time in Black Mesa if it had been raided with hunters
  7. So, children are regularly being prescribed meth for attention disorders, illegal recreational drugs have (except some cases) way less side-effects and harms (we're talking about things that have been properly researched here) than their legal counterparts and thousands of millions of dollars are being wasted to keep those things like that. Lately, western society has become more and more open and tolerant towards cannabis use, countries like Uruguay and the Netherlands allow recreational use of Mary Jane and states like Colorado and Washington have made the same thing. With this, research involving the interaction between cannabis and the human body has grow and we're slowly becoming aware that this little plant can do more good than harm so... Do you think this should be the case for other drugs? This topic is for general drug discussion, we may float from one subject to the other after some posts.(:
  8. Yeah, that's why it seems utopical for lots of people but it's not that hard once you acknowledge we are kind of the same in the primal way we say all animals are just "animals" people are just monkeys who think they deserve more because they perform better at different tasks. Men are monkeys, in a group of primates there's always an alpha monkey who is beefier than the others but if you look at the big picture, you see just a group of damn monkeys. I think pretty much the same way with humans. You can group a bunch of people, some better than others in some things and some pretty dull does and etc but at the end they're just a group of people. Masses. And anyone who thinks they're not a mass belongs to the mass that doesn't think it's a mass. It has been proven that men and women's brains are very different and one excels the other in different tasks but in the end, they're just people.
  9. 1. CyberPower one seems more balanced. I'd go with that one (it includes a lot of freebies too!). It's always better to build your systems yourself, but if you wanna avoid the trouble, go with CyberPower. 2.Yeah! Both are great. I doubt you'll be gaming in a monitor bigger than 1080p so you'll be fine. 3. I guess you could change the configuration to make it a bit more affordable, depending on what you do it may or not affect performance too much 4. 2nd option 5. Well, they seem reputable enough. Unless CyberPower and NCIX are linked to the mafias
  10. I consider feminism just as bad as machism. True equality is the way to go.
  11. I've been rocking Tyrian on my phone for some time now, has anyone else tried the secret arcade mode? I think I got the code after finishing the game in hard difficulty. BTW, depending on the Tyrian version you're rocking, this might appear when you boot up the game :
  12. The idea sounds neat... Too bad I live in another continent and can't afford a plane ticket.
  13. Merci pour ta contribution! Tous les sous-titres qu'ont été postées sur le forum vont être eventuellement ajoutées aux vidéos et aux pages sur ce site. C'est génial que tu te dédie a cela!
  14. Hey, You may know these as they were really popular back in the day. Xanatos made a Hitchcock tribute using the source engine, and then a sequel to it. TO who's seen hithcock movies, there are really interesting. v5AMS_bMcQA Here's the sequel: ZWLzucirWs4
  15. I'll start by getting into twitter myself, haven't ever been on it so I'm not familiar with it's dynamics to the point I'd involve it with the bussiness, but I'm progressing on that and using my own for now to learn it. The second one and third one are even easier to incorporate than any of mine. Thanks (: Valentine's Day is coming up, I better get working on that!
  16. I've lived tour situation since my steam career started. I'm a minor so i can't use international credit/debit cards (so no paypal). I got a friend to buy me the games and "gift" them to me. And I transfered the money to him via local banks. I bought several games like that and most recently I exchanged some vintage and strange TF2 items for a copy of Borderlands 2. It's safe and legal as long as your counterpart is someone tou can trust. In both cases I knew the people that did me the favor. Now steam makes it much easier with the new inventory system.
  17. Ross Scott doesn't wear ties. You know why? Because he's a rebel. The day they try to enforce the slave code on you, let them know there could be an ACCIDENT in the internet. And by ACCIDENT I mean BOMB the site. (FM reference)
  18. Just brilliant, if anyone decided to make a low-medium budget HL film it should be like this.
  19. Butterfree is friggin awesome. Sleep powder + compound eyes really works out to ease legendary-catching. Cool list.
  20. Hi. As none of you know, my mother owns a flowershop. Currently we're not in a very good financial situation so I decided to get into the social networks and become the community manager and administrator for the bussiness' facebook page. I'm also in charge of graphic design, as we can't afford a real designer and my mom's and partner technological knowledge is almost non-existent. So, I'm trying to figure out some ways to improve sales and make the page more dynamic. I've come up with the following: -15% discount on your order/purchase if you saw the add on facebook -Randomly give away a $40 prize every 2 weeks to all the likes in a post (flowers, of course). -Flower related trivias -"Did you know?" And "fun fact" flower posts. -Tips on how to make your flowers last longuer (since you bought them dead). -Curious uses of flowers in history and different cultures posts -Giveaway flowers and dinners at good restaurants on special ocassions such as mother's day, valentine's day and such via like contests (random). (Already know a couple of people we can get a partnership with). --------------------- If you could come up with something else, that'd be great (: Also, If you want to post/ask for ideas for any other kind of bussiness feel free to. (Changed the topic title because it sounded like something straight out of a spambot). Thanks.
  21. I'd have loved it if he was holding a "I <3 AF" sign. i humbly request that as your next picture in this thread
  22. I got Metro 2033 lately as well and I'm also reading the novel. As usual there's a lot that's left behind. Lots of details about the misterious Hunter were removed in the game and the start feels actually very forced when you compare it to the 3 chapters it takes Artyom to leave his home station. Awesome game by the way. Reminds me of the classic FPS experience (Half-Life for example) and not the new annoying style filled with objectives and guidepoints. I much prefere the old school style where they tell you where you have to go and you have to manage to get there by yourself..
  23. Have you played Star Fox 2? It's actually very good and kind of obscure due to it's cancellation and posterior revamp.
  24. Basically, you don't see how the phone you just bought belongs to you
  25. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the harms of criminalization. Legalizing weed (and other drugs) would strongly weaken the black market, those jackasses who sell brown shit to 12 year old kids (not to mention they rip them off but they kind of deserve it), fool hundreds into crossing the border with drugs on them (resulting in prison or muder) and drug related violence in cities like Tijuana (a very clear example to all of us) and many, many others. The Dutch government even had to close prisons when weed was legalized, imagine how many of those stupidly spent resources could have gone to better causes. If auto-consumption was also promoted people would have clean and organic pot if they'd chose it. No government-capitalist-conspiracy additives or really shady origins in your joint. People would have even better alternatives to traditional medecine.. I think the good side of legalization may be way bigger than the bad one if people were educated about the drug and didn't necessarily go buy "marlboro greens" when it gets legal.
