ROSS’S GAME DUNGEON: AIDA’S STRANGE CHRISTMAS

Here’s the Christmas Game Dungeon episode! This wasn’t my original plan for the episode, but it ended up being a natural fit. New non-Christmas Game Dungeon coming in a few days!

Sick Burn!

"I don't trust a man that doesn't have something strange going on about him, cause that means he's hiding it from you. If a man's wearing his pants on his head or if he says his words backwards from time to time, you know it's all laid out there for you. But if he's friendly to strangers and keeps his home spick-and-span, more often than not he's done something even his own ma couldn't forgive." -No-bark Noonan

Here are some examples of games that were also made in AGS:

I mean yeah, as far as presentation goes, they're all 2D point & click adventure games. But art direction makes a huge difference.

Yeah, when I saw the AGS website front page, I knew the engine wasn't at fault for the art. Tried to swerve at the end of the post, but didn't do a good job of it. I was just surprised games made by different people could have a similar look to them.

I suspect the cartoon characters Ross alluded to in this episode, buried deep in his subconscious, may have been the Aardvark antagonists in Canadian cartoon "The Raccoons."  Funny, I also spent many years vaguely recalling those weird-looking purple creatures from the show, but not remembering the show itself.  Evidently it's just one of those essentially-forgettable-but-not-completely-forgettable things that have a way of slipping out of one's consciousness but then lingering just beneath awareness, a very slightly less dark shadow among shadows...
