Very good, although I think you got Youtubed; there's a couple of patches of heavy compression in the early bits.

Man, the airboat still makes me want to hurl. I think I'll need to watch those sections windowed.

Great episode, the modding in this episode was spectacular. I think that all the bug hunting was well worth it, so was the choice of making this episode longer. Here's to another year of Freeman's Mind!

That compression should be fixed by the VP9 encoding, I don't recall it being worse than what was on the previous episode.

Somehow i never knew until this episode that you could shoot out that transformer and cut the power 

Freeman got a little intense in some parts, which is good.

You can't. There is no transformer. He never shot out any electrical devices in the episode. You imagined the whole thing.

Ross, really, thank you for this series. It's one of the few things I look forward to anymore.

It's astonishing how often in this series you see things like Gordon climbing ledges, putting his weapon away, an NPC reacting to him killing a friendly vortigaunt, a mention of modding *in the credits* and yet we still have people going "I didn't know you could do that!" & "Is this modded?" in the youtube comments.

Shows that a lot of people don't pay attention to credits or any other notices.

I announced it IMMEDIATELY after it got processed for 1080p.  If I could manage things better (maybe someday), I'd let it sit on Youtube for 24 hours actually, I've noticed the color is more accurate for videos after it's had more time to process.

Nothing you can really do about it, it's pretty normal, people sometimes have their focus in different places, when approaching something for the first time, so they might miss out on some key info, even if it's right in their face. Maybe they lack the context, or they don't understand the meaning of what you told them just yet, until they are done with what they are watching, or playing.

I can see your point.

It's more that people have a question, and don't even consider the possibility that the creator might have used the description to preemptively answer it. Even when that question is as major as "Who besides you contributed to the video's content?" and credits are a well-established thing in our society.

To some extent this is YouTube's fault. From day one, they've considered the video descriptions so unimportant that they've been mostly-hidden by default. (And no other site does that. Not DeviantArt, not Newgrounds, not even Imgur which 99% of the time is just used to rehost other people's pictures for hotlinking elsewhere.) So people get in the habit of not even thinking about them. There are a number of ways in which YouTube is staggeringly backward, and this is one of the bigger ones.

Anyway. Great episode. Like everyone else I'm surprised that you went to the trouble of having the game modded (well, custom-mapped) just for something so simple, but I guess we're all still used to the days when you didn't have the resources to do anything fancier than holster your weapon and noclip your way up a short wall. I'm guessing there are going to be more moments like this in store down the line.

Which brings up a good question: Were there any moments in the first series where you wanted to do something fancy like that but had to do without?
