STOP KILLING FORUMS - KEEP THE FORUMS ALIVE

Well, it seems like the laziest activism once again won over learned helplessness.

I look forward to winning Last Post. Slow and steady.
Careful not to let the GOGheads on their forums see your enthusiasm. Then they'll come here and mald about how Stop Killing Games is done, it'll never succeed, nothing is being done, etc. etc.

People are upset because they have to destroy their own games instead of having a corporation do it for them. I wouldn't worry too much about it, let them be stuck on the tutorial island until they figure their own way out.

Basically, read through how this forum thread develops: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/stop_killing_games_campaign_by_accursed_farms_ross_scott/
And, as an honorable mention, this onwards: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/g...ng_support_to_stop_killing_games_initi/post65

But I will warn you, it turns cancerous, rage-baity, into a bit of a circle jerk
Looks like there are a few people there that are willing to destroy any progress on this, all because they dislike some facts that disagree with their personal political opinions. Also, quite a few deliberately misinterpreting or straight up lying about the goals. (these are probably not actual people, but Chinese-run PR departments trying to keep Ubisoft's bottom line up)

People suck.

Maybe SKG should write an official instruction manual how to destroy one's personal games for the few people out there who want their games unplayable Delete these and these files from the game folder, and now your copy of the game won't launch anymore. Enjoy.

Ross can’t shut the forum, I just made an account after forgetting he existed for 15 years.

I have to catch up first. Let’s say another 15?

That should be fine.

Wow I had no idea the forums almost died. I've joined one in this last year or so after not using them for a decade. Reddit is perhaps all the forums the world needs or wants. Now we just need to move the politics subforum over there to the AccursedFarms sub. :p

Nah. Their ToS and owners are really quite shady. There's no way I'd trust them with allowing an actual opposing views like were happening in the Serious Topics subforum.

I literally only have a Reddit account to ask the occasional Videochat question. I understand why Ross went with Reddit with more people having already made an account there, but moving Videochat questions here could bring more life to the forums.

There's a good reason to keep forums in general around as the social media behemoths implode. More and more people are sick to death of them, but for the time being are still waiting for the next person to make a move.

EDIT: Removed questions answered by John Smith in the Accursed Farms 3.0 thread.

Reddit and other vote based aggregates would work best as a content bulletin board. But in practice it's all gamified interactions

There's also the political issue. Reddit is extremely 1-sided when it comes to politics.

I used to be center-right, but the overtone window shifted so much that I might as well be taking dragon dildos up my ass.
Reddit is just a shithole overall though
