Machinima ruining FM :/

Im just assuming that when the square that is on the visual display of FM progress that says "When filled = pending upload to machinima" is filled, im assuming that Ross has sent machinima a copy and is pending upload by them.

For a company that specializes in videos on youtube, why would it take more then a couple hours to upload a video? FM 33 and 34 are both completely done as per the visual on the main page.

This is all an assumption and i hope i can have some cleared up, but why does it take machinima 3 days+ to upload a video that does not follow a weekly schedule? Shouldnt they upload right when they get it?

I am in no way blaming the upload times on Ross, but I think I would prefer him to upload them directly to his OWN youtube page or get somone more reliable then Machinima becuase they are realllllllllly slow.

Idk if this is serious or not, but ive checked youtube/machinima for like 4 days in a row after seeing #33 completed and still no upload so i am kinda dissapointed in them :/

there's another 10+ page thread on this. We all share your pain, anger, and desire to murder the nearest person/anthropomorphic frog person in sight. Oh and 6+ days, not just 3.

 
I think Machinima should upload the episode, yet instead they upload a slew of Call of Duty videos.

I guess if it's seen that they take a lot longer than a week, should people really start complaining.

 
I think my biggest complaint is that Machinima is not really about Machinima so much any more. This is something that has bugged me even before the delays on FM. It became even worse once they turned their website into a big banner pointing you to their youtube channels. At least before you could find interesting stuff more easily. You could filter by game, user ratings and everything. Back then it did not matter so much that they had the extra crap, you could just go around it.

In essence, the delays would not bother me so much if it was delayed by machinima on Machinima.

I would JOIN Machinima, make a sub channel, add the machinima logos and upload it quickly, rather then having people gnash their teeth...

I'm sorry, I just had to when you said "Valve Time".

Machinima is unfortunately a necessary evil. The amount of time and effort (and money) that Ross puts into the episodes dictates the need for a host that provides revenue. The end result is that Machinima, being a business, will push mainstream content that's more likely to make money. I wouldn't be surprised if it had close ties to some big-shot video game publishers.

 
Machinima is like that monopoly label of machinima that started as machinima but accepts almost anything from gaming nowadays that will get them views.

The machinima (game videos area) is in dire need of other "label" to challenge machinima (the cannel) otherwise they are not going to change/

They need a stricter policy what will and what will not get on machinima.... or make more channels for the fans and the minority.

Now if we had another machinima channel that could challenge them by applying to the minority which could quickly become the majority if we screw machinima and join that channel ultimately maybe Ross Scott could join that channel for views and for quality channel reasons.

 
Machinima get Ross a much higher view count for his videos, its annoying that it takes so long but you have to remember they upload a huge amount of videos to their channel every day many of which have a weekly release date and therefore would take upload priority to make sure they are uploaded in their correct time slot. Also Ross has suggested that they tend to shift around video release times so that there is never an over abundance or a dearth of videos being uploaded at any one time to create a consistent flow of video uploads.

At the end of the day, its annoying that we have to wait a while for video uploads but its a necessary evil so be patience.
