This is actually pretty cool. I'm surprised no one's made plans for a Deus Ex film before now.

No trolling, please.
Apologies. I couldn't resist.
it's very hard not being a shitty poster, I understand.

also will the movie stop during pivotal moments in the story and the audience has to discuss what J.C needs to do next, making the movie more interactive Rocky Horror style? I think that would be cool.

" Film will revolve around second installment "Deus Ex: Human Revolution."

seems even the guy behind this article wants to forget about Invisible War

A movie can't really show the greatness of a game that has multiple endings and so many possible plots in itself. I guess they focus on creating the best version of what they can get from the game. Or they;re preparing for a trilogy maybe.

Possibility of a trilogy makes me excited!

Maybe they will go with it like with Pirates of te Carribeans?

Meh. Videogame movies always seem to piss me off at first. Maybe it's just because I prefer my videogames to stay videogames.

I love video game movies. Doom and Resident Evil are my favourites. Super Mario Bros. and The Wizard are awesome to watch just for the camp factor.

I don't think some games could work as movies. If you made Unreal into a movie you would lose the central atmosphere that makes Unreal what it is, you can't replicate the vast and glorious environments on screen.

But I do think a Deus Ex movie would certainly be interesting, even though you'd be taking away the crucial "choice" element that made Deus Ex such a stellar game.

I dunno, I think the only video game movies I would really enjoy would be ones not based off the games themselves, but set in the universe and canon at some different point in time, or set during the games' events, just something OTHER than the game's story. Like, when the Mass Effect movie was first announced, there was speculation it would be set during the First Contact War and show what it was like for the humans against the Turians for that brief conflict. I personally think that would've really worked as a film, but then they decided to go ahead and just redo the story of Mass Effect. Suddenly don't care anymore. The worst part is Seth Green isn't gonna be Joker, either! But take something like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children which, while full of the stupid anime Japan crap a lot of people hate with wierd characters and storyline, at least it wasn't just remaking FFVII all over again, it was continuing that universe. Those kinds of movies I can really enjoy more.

I'm not saying movies can't follow the plot of the game and be good, I'm just saying it'd have to be damn well executed before I can really enjoy it. Otherwise, it just makes me feel like what's the point of even having the game if I can just watch it as a movie without having to push a button other than 'Play'? That said, I'll wait and see what Deus Ex brings to the table once it's released.

Just as soon as I play the games.

I definitely have mixed feelings about the idea. While, like Alyxx, I enjoy the elements that make up most of video game-based movies, I can also see this as being wasted potential for a good movie. I'd rather the film be animated much like the Appleseed movies, but not like the Dante's Inferno or Dead Space flicks, as opposed to being shot in live action. If they do go the live action route, I hope they use a yellowish filter throughout the movie. One that makes everything kind of look like the scenes on the Xillian ship from Godzilla: Final Wars.

Just my gut reaction, will probably comment more as more info is leaked/released.

I think there's a mod that gets rid of Human Revolution's piss filter. Makes the game look a ton better.

I liked almost everything about the game. But I also liked Adam Jensen a lot probably more than I would if I was a man

So that helps a lot. I didn't even notice the yellow glow until my bf told me he doesn't like it.

I hope some very wise people will sit and really rethink the script and they will really really close cooperate with Eidos people. It's so eay to fuck up a game based movie, everyone know it! It's almost like brewing a potion! One bad script/cast/director idea and everything gets ruined!
