Summoner was always one of my biggest questions. I bought the game back in 2002 and remember enjoying the soundtrack more than the actual game. It's a sort of modern western rpg that tries to do a little bit too much with a plot that's not really always that engaging and pretty forgettable characters, or at least I know I did forget about them. It might make for an interesting episode of the Dungeon though.

I've been trying to play it long time ago. And...back then I had Dungeon Siege. Dungeon Siege was more interesting, so I dropped this one. All I can tell I've seen on stream, and people were calling it "western JRPG". So it has hard mechanics, confusing story and really long gameplay, I guess. Never seen the end of it and seems like noone I know were talking about this game much after that.

Summoner is one of my favorite PS2 games of all time. It is hard, and it is massive, but it is absolutely worth trying to submerge yourself into its world. There is also one of the funniest (and earliest!) Machinima-style videos hidden in the game's credits, and it's something my friends and I quoted for like 20 years. Summoner 2 was also an interesting game, more for how it expanded the world and the gameplay of the first one than for its story, but I highly recommend everyone at least try this to see if it's for them. It was definitely for me when I was in my late teens.
