Good start, ok-ish ending. Made by die-hard SJWs that start with some good ideas, but degrade into agenda-pushing towards the end. This one though is at least trying, so it's slightly melodramatic in bits, but it doesn't go too far and overall story still prevails. But their next game is just a disaster.

One of the best adventure games done in AGS ever, the voiceover work is pretty well done, the plot is great (yeah ending not so much I guess) and the puzzles are the good kind of Lucas/sierra ones.

The main character is a bit of an asshole and seems like a fantasy alt-girl rather than a real person.

A lot of effort went into and I would like a sequel with better story, maybe exploring the weirder aspects of the game.

As a whole, it's a ok/good adventure game. Wasn't frustrating, but wasn't all that engaging either.

I agree whit RaTcHeT302... didnt like the main character so i didnt arrive far in the game... for the rest i like the graphics and the puzzles was fair, but again didnt arrive far... i like it much more "The Samaritan Paradox" (except for the end) and "Whispers of a Machine"

In short, a Twin Peaks little sister.

Played it right after "Whispers of a machine". Albeit the latter is more polished, I think "Kathy Rain" is more intriguing and cool in terms of the story: weird stuff happening in a provincial town... trying to solve some family mystery... meeting creepy people...

Honestly, I think the main character, Kathy, is great. You just need to play little more to see what she's been through and why all this behaviour. At the end I ended up liking her. Also to mention some others:

Spoiler

- Goober, the bum, is great and fun to talk to. He knows quite a lot about modern cinema!
- The creepy "Lynch" guy, is cool, like his creepy voice and look. You know when you see...

Technically, there are some problems due to that you can freely travel between locations and talk to people but sometimes you just need to do something in a correct order and given in mind that there are unskippable animations etc. the game pace is kinda slow.

But overall it's 4.5/5.

One of the best modern adventure games I've played. As the story develops you get that sensation that you are delving into stuff you were better off not knowing about. There's also some stuff about the protagonist's personal life I found hard to care about by comparison.

The puzzles are good.
