Several proteins flank the α1 pore-forming unit of

a VSCC, called γ, β, and α2δ. Shown in Figure 3-22C

are γ units that span the membrane, cytoplasmic

β units, and a curious protein called α2δ, because it

has two parts: a δ part that is transmembrane, and

an α2 part that is extracellular (Figure 3-22C).

I hear the voices echoing around me

Angered eyes that don't even know who I am

Looking to kill again (They will kill again)

As the unknown enemies surround me

Wicked laughter resonates inside my head

And I am filled with dread (And adrenaline)

What did I do? Why do I deserve this?

So we're different,

why do I deserve to die now?

Give my a reason why?

Then it all goes a blur

Let instinct take flight

Find my hands on his throat

Yet hear myself say

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

Dead to everyone

A father's pride, my son walking beside me

I look around and marvel how the children play

In perfect disarray (So innocent)

No judgement, pure exhilaration

Black to white, the colors aren't on their minds

Nothing predefined (All different)

There's always one who plants an evil seed and

Preaches fear to pull you to the other side

Into a world of lies

Everything is unsure when you've lost your sight

Can there still be a cure?

What made you this way?

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

Dead to everyone

(You're not anyone)

Oh

Lost all innocence

Infected and arrogant

You burn all your life

(There's no telling you)

No deliverance

Consumed by the pestilence

Of hate, you're denied

Deep in your heart does it still remain?

Do you think you can bring it

Back to life again?

Is it still in your soul?

(No saving you)

Where's the deviant

The unholy revenant

That has made you this way?

Made you fall for this hate

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

(You become)

Tell me now, who taught you how to hate?

Because it isn't in your blood

Not a part of what you're made

So let this be understood

Somebody taught you how to hate

When you live this way, you become

(You become)

Dead to everyone

(You're not anyone)

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

, but humanity's progress as a species is drastically slowed down, not by the limits of laws, not by the limits of technology, not by the limits of physics but by the limits of our self-control. I ask again the existential question: Are we the masters of our own thoughts? Are we truly free within ourselves? Could there really be something holding us back, something that is maybe so familiar to us that we don't even see it?

Instinct simplifies the things for us, so instead of seeing the whole picture, we only know the basics of the situation. This is a simple fact, but one that makes instinc a very dangerous thing.

Stepping away from letting instinct control us is what let humanity evolve in the first place. It is as we started thinking with our brains that we became human, in the process leaving behind all those other animals that still left instinct to think for them.

Us humans can now think of not only ourselves, but also of those around us. We can now assess situations and make judgements based on careful thinking and consideration, rather than first impulses. We can also get an idea on the feelings and thinkings of others, effectively defying instinct's first priority - self preservation.

Instinct indeed laid the basis for humanity's survival for a lot of years.

Set free your mind to set free your thoughts.

As for those that still follow instinct rather than intellect, it can be concluded that they simply suffer from insecurity about their own intelligence, limiting their minds to be small, causing their actions to appear unreasoning in today's times, and hindering themselves, and humantiy, from moving towards the future.

A future where our minds are no longer controlled by what's left of the dawn of man, but a bright future where we can control our minds individually, thereby mastering humanity's final enemy: ourselves.

Noapte bună somn uşor

Şapte purici pe un picior

Şi pe celălaltă parte

Ca să poţi dormi mai bine in noapte

(I tried Google translating it, but I still don't really know what that means. Anyone here speak Romanian?)
