For the most part, yes. The show would have to really stray from the MLP settings to destroy those. and even if they did, writers will always find a way...

Yeah, fanfiction writers will usually ignore canon stuff to make their fics work (like for A:TLAB). I'm all sorts of excited for episode 13, though. I wonder what extra ponies will be in it.

I've also noticed the fanbase tends to make Pinkie Pie crazier than she actually is. a lot of stories portray her as full on insane and almost unable to hold a conversation with at all, yet when you watch the show, she is random, has a lot of weird moments, but isn't nearly as far gone as some fictions portray. :/

I'd be more okay with that than the pairings. I can stomach them just fine, and some of them are well done, but it's definitely a concept that belongs only in the fanon.

Idk.. I just feel like it's the one personality people can't truly, accurately depict without either going too far or not far enough. Guess sh'e just a difficult character.

I actually find it hard to believe she's a difficult character to portray; she's just hyper and sometimes says nonsensical things, but she's not totally random like what's her face from FF13.
