Brony IS fan of the show. It's the term used to describe someone who likes it, not only the people who obsess over it. The only reason people ahve the problem of ever telling the difference is the vast majority of people who do obsess.

Somebody who justs appreciates the animations and concepts of MLP isn't a brony, though. Just saying, "yeah, it's a well-made show" doesn't mean brony, in my opinion.

None of you have any idea what a brony is.....

Let's look at the official definition:

Brony

Brony [ˈbrɔnɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Krzyżanów, within Kutno County, Łódź Voivodeship, in central Poland. It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) south of Kutno and 40 km (25 mi) north of the regional capital Łódź.

The village has a population of 80.

And now we know.

Since a brony is a meme title and not an actual word the definition of brony is technically whatever you want it to be lads. However generally it means being a fan of this MLP show, but meme title definitions can change and are subjective. 8-)

The determination of how much I like the show does not compare to how much fun it is to mess with all your heads.

But since that is a very disrespectful thing to say, I'll level with you all and declare that I do enjoy My Little Pony.

This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please.

I made the mistake of googling "Rainbow Dash" with SafeSearch completley off...

Thanks for the explanation of vectors (I think I would like that geeky explanation, Rarity), but how do these guys get vectors of the pony characters? They look too official. Do they make them from scratch or do they somehow capture it from the show and vectorize it? How?

A vector in photoshop is made using paths. You draw out the path in the shape you want, then use a type of Fill that fills in only the inside of the path. that way, when you scale the image, you're scaling the paths and it reveals more or less of the fill. So you're not technically scaling the pixels as you are scaling the area in which the pixels are visible.

Vector ponies, well, only way I can think they do that is they take a screen cap of the pony, then go in and draw paths around the edges of each part and use the technique I just mentioned, using a different layer for each change in color. then when they're done, they remove the screen cap, and have a vector image which can be scaled to any size, up or down, and not lose it's quality. Only works in the PSD file though since once you save it to anything else it seizes to be a true vector and becomes an image which when scaled will lose quality.

Of course, as awesome as that sounds, there are limitations. You cannot paint, dodge/burn, or use effects on a vector layer without rasterizing it first. but once you rasterize it, it's no longer vector and will not scale seamlessly.

I may have to try it sometime and see if I can do it. :P

So "She's a Pony" has become one of my favorite alltime songs, not just because it's ponies, but because the remix itself is amazingly constructed.

On the forum I had mentioned before they have now completely banned ponies. As much as mentioning it will get you muted/banned. And why? Because pony haters where trolling spamming the forums. Obviously the next logical step is to ban the bronies rather than the spammers.

Logic.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
