If Ponyville is dependent on the economy of the Apple Family Farm, that's not very good.

You'd think at least Sugarcube Corner and Rarity's store would contribute to the economy at least a little bit.

 

Well Sugarcube Corner's most popular treats are possibly the ones using apples. Have you ever tried to replace apples in a recipe with corn? Not sure about Rarity, though. Equestria seems to have a fashion industry at least on par with what we have, so I guess her importance to the economy is entirely dependent on how important our industry is to the real economy.

Pastries are far more dependent on wheat (or at least rice)-based flour, as well as yeast or other rising agents, than apples.

To that, it can be supposed that chemistry is a thing in Equestria, unless baking soda grows from plants some place. If chemistry exists, then I think I'll fit in just fine.

Hey I just got into MIP recently, and I only know one episode by heart. Cut me some slack. Anyway, in case you didn't know, this is the same chick that voices Timmy Turner in Fairly Odd Parents, Harley Quinn in Arkham City, and can even do baby noises flawlessly. I mean, would you ever guess Timmy Turner and Harley Quinn would have the same voice actress if I didn't tell you, hell, would you even guess Timmy Turner was voiced by a woman if you didn't know? Strong has a WIDE range of voices.
