Twilight is too superficial, IMO. She pretends to be perfect and has this smug sense of superiority over all the other ponies; on the other hand, everyone has their flaws. At least Rainbow Dash will admit she thinks she's better than everyone else in things at which she's generally good. Rainbow Dash is the most honest and candid pony--that's something I respect e.g. when Rarity presented all the dresses, Rainbow Dash was the only one honest enough to say anything (even if she was wrong); she said what they were all to scared and "polite" to say.
Strange, I was under the impression that being polite was a good thing. I think of her as indifferent and egotistical, not honest.

It's all a matter of taste. I love Rainbow Dash. Points to Michael Archers post.

So you don't consider stubbornness to be a strong enough character flaw in Applejack?

This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please.

If characters don't have flaws, they don't appear human. Making three-dimensional characters for fiction, 101.

WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO MAKE THREE DIMENSIONAL CHARACTERS FOR A TWO DIMENSIONAL ANIMATED TV SHOW?

And that is why silent protagonists are boring.

I love you, yet can't stand to know you exist.

So gordan freeman is boring?

And when he gets to heaven,

To saint Peter he will tell;

One more soldier reporting, sir.

I've served my time in Hell!

Yes. He is incredibly boring.

Just kidding. Gordon's definitely one of my favorite game heroes, but I guess I can see why you don't like him.

I don't really mind whether or not protagonists talk most of the time; it's rarely awkward.

Adding a random sentence to an off topic thread about ponies

Trying to get the thread back on topic...

Why do people like MLP:FIM so much, anyway? I've never watched it but I have read about it. It sounds terribly cliche (FRIENDSHIP IS SO KOO, GAIZ!), and from what I've read, it's very... "cutesy" as a lot of people put it. I can't see why any male over the age of 4 or 5 would enjoy that.. not saying you have to watch movies like Rambo all the time, but it seems strange that a fully grown male would enjoy something like that. Apparently, the humor also fails.
