My mom had the most extensive collection of Sheryll Crow when I was a kid, and that song is so hardwired into my brain that I can't help but smile hearing that. That video was great.

Just saw the new episode

 

 

They're on a role with these great episodes. I liked how each pony (and Spike) not only mirrored other superheros, but at the same time, kept their personalities. The only superhero I couldn't figure out was Twilight Sparkle. Spike was Robin, Fluttershy The Hulk, Applejack Wonder Woman, Pinkie Pie The Flash, Rarity Green Lantern, and Rainbow Dash as Storm. I also liked how Mane-iac, more or less, mirrored The Joker. I'm certain huge fans of The Justice League would really enjoy this episode, and notice things that I didn't. Oh and there's this:

 

 

Oh and I'm calling it now: Luna's and Celestia's old castle will become Twilight's later on.

Just saw it, and it was awesome (and funny). Pinkie made me lol like three different times. She's been doing that a lot this season.

 

 

I also liked how the various powers were fitting to the characters. Rarity making creative use of 'accessories', AJ with her rope, RD with the weather, ect. Fluttershy was the hulk for pure hilarity, though. She didn't get her moment to shine until the end, but it was worth it. Twilight's powers were basically the same things she can already do, but she forgot how for some reason. That kind of applies to Rarity too, come to think of it. Unicorn master race, anyone?

 

Speaking of Twilight, why did her horn need its own mask? Was she trying to make it look like it belonged to someone else?

 

And radioactive hair gel? Really? Sounds like a really shady contract between the shampoo company and the medical industry.

 

Also noticed that Doc Ock The Joker Mane-iac looks suspiciously like Nightmare Moon. Sounded a lot like her too, for that matter. I'm loving all the shout outs. I'm not even into comic books and I still caught most of them. I'm assuming that the majority of 6-8 year old girls aren't avid Justice League readers, so the writers were probably aiming this episode at the older audience. Seems like a nice gesture, or maybe I'm just reading into it too much.

 

Also, this whole episode was a hurricane of puns (see what I did there?)

 

Anyway, I agree with Ninja, they're on a roll this season. Reports of the show's ruination were greatly exaggerated.

Speaking of Twilight, why did her horn need its own mask? Was she trying to make it look like it belonged to someone else?

My only guess is that she wanted extra protection to prevent it from being snapped? But if that was the case, she would have worn a horn thing a long time ago.

Super Saiyan Fluttershy is quite terrifying. I may or may not have soiled my breeches. Good episode, good lesson, and Pinkie actually had some decent humor (huehuehue 69 blocks, hue)

I was definitely thiking that, too, ninja.

 

 

I liked that episode. All of the superhero references were awesome, and I think they only got away with it in a girls' show because of the Avengers. And I think even though RD was said to have the powers of Storm, she displayed them and acted more like Thor. Also Twilight could be any number of elemental-based superheroes, including Firestorm, Fire&Ice, or of course Captain Planet.

 

I also liked how it called back to Castlemania, and how they are rebuilding the sister's castle. I really hope something interesting comes out of that whole thing.

 

And hey! a Spike episode! Didn't see that coming. I like how they addressed in the show and in-universe how Spike is a main character but not a mane character. He's thrown to the wayside a lot of times, but he's still important at times and they won't forget about him when he's plot-relevant. I think that's an important promise for the writers to keep, especially with all the Spike abuse that's been happening lately (he gets slapstick'd a lot).

Just watched the new episode.

 

 

I did not expect to see a vampire fluttershy when I woke up today, much less a canon one.

 

Also another case of "we almost made an Applejack episode, but nevermind."

 

And the song reminded me a lot of May the Best Pet Win. Very much more of a bunch of words put to a tune rather than a legitimate song. Still pretty good, though, since they were with the two ponies who sing the least.

Once again, yet another great episode.

 

Not much to say here, except I really enjoyed the "song" (Shiny put it best), I also liked the conflict Fluttershy had, with what to do with the bats, Rarity in a hazmat suit was priceless, not only is Pinkie's mane is really strong, and apparently her ability to control it, is on the list of strange things she can do as an earth pony, the cutie-mark flashlights/spells was kinda cool, and the grid/blackboard spell thingy Twilight used to explain her thoughts as to what caused Fluttershy to change was cool.
