not exactly, what we just saw was spitfire the teacher/drill Sargent spitfire and not the captain/public face of the wonderbolts spitfire. They are really one in the same, if you look at the part where she is doing paperwork you can see that she is really signing pictures of herself.

 

Also sense when were the wonderbolts a part of the military? I just thought they were like a sport team but with no competitors.

They might be part of the military in the sense that the Russian Knights are part of the Russian Air Force, where they're technically part of it but it's mostly just for air shows.

Awesome episode. Great moral. Hated Spitfire's voice. I want to know why they were unable to get the three line VA from Season 1. Lightning Dust was cool. Maybe she'll turn up later with a new lesson learned or something. IDK, but Pinkie Pie was very good in this one as well. We need more Twilight focused episodes, I think...

Another great episode, Lightning Dust reminded me of Gilda, especially towards the end. Spitfire's voice didn't bother me, so I guess I'm in the minor with that. Also, is it me, or does there seem to be a lack of writing to Celestia in this season?

Remember the "Test" in the crystal ponies thing? I'm thinking that was her graduating the "letters to Celestia" class.

 

And now that I've watched the episode when it was (slightly more) legal to, I can respond.

 

 

Lightning Dust is a very interesting character. She is like an exaggeration of Rainbow Dash, which is weird because RD is already an exaggeration. The way she left the episode made me think we'd see more of her, and the way Dash has been making enemies would make it a nice episode with Gilda, Lightning Dust, and the eagle that won the best pet competition but left bitter and friendless.

 

At first I thought the lesson was going to be that doing something because it's easy for you isn't as good as doing it because it's hard, but it didn't completely counteract that either.The ending moral was definitely one of their better ones.

 

Snowflake/Chunk/Roid Rage appearance FTW, but I wish they used him more and better. He was kind of just another background pony.
