Whell seeing as there is 11 girls for every boy there will need to be some "sharing"

My theory has always been that the majority of all males are kept prisoner in a massive rape factory for the purposes of breeding.

Anyway...YES! WOONA! WE NEED MORE OF HER!

What is it that you enjoy/that makes you people watch My Little Pony (ie do you 'simply like it' or do you have more specific reasons)? I do not mean this statement in a hostile manner, I am merely curious. That and some crazy theories, although I will admit I have not seen any of it beyond random 'meme videos' and whatnot posted on various forums.

From my current perspective it does not appeal to me and indeed is not even designed for my age group and gender. I'm interested in what you people say on this.

EDIT: Also...what's with the current subject of conversation in this thread!?

Feel free to PM me about almost anything and I'll do my best to answer. :)

Well you came at a bad time.

I like the show for a lot of reasons, it has great animations, great writing, and great voice acting. But there is more, there something I can't explain. It's like I'm a kid agen, it's like all the hate and sorrow of the world I live in melts away as I stare at cartoon ponys.

The world is filled with a lot a negativity and problems so, for me, it's just nice to enjoy something innocent and fun. Also animation, voice acting and the music is great. The fandom is also great but I liked it more when we weren't so big and there weren't so many "preachers".

For most people it really is as simple as that it's really, really good, and they really, really like it. In every way that you could judge the quality of a cartoon(voice acting, animation, writing, character design, music), this passes with flying colors. People who say "there are references that only older people will get!" are just trying to justify it (James Bond and Sherlock Holmes references are extremely common in any cartoon), and people who say that it's okay because of all the action are the same.It is entirely meant for little girls, but we can set that aside to appreciate the quality alone. As for why we get so fanatic about it, I have a few theories: the fact that we like a girl's show is such a jarring notion that we need other people to verify that we aren't nuts; we compensate for it's girliness by being extreme devotees; the show itself instills values that we feel invites us to join together as a group, and talking about the show is secondary to being with friends.

I would suggest either

And to answer your edit question, we are discussing some leaks about plots and returning characters in next season.

I just think it's a surprisingly intelligent, cleverly done, pretty well animated, and cute program. Show for girls be damned. I've always thought you've just gotta have the right mindset and be open minded about this kind of stuff to really enjoy it. It's kind of hard for me to put into words other than, "You just need to 'get it'".

EDIT: I like Shiny's post better, though.

Two unrelated things:

1. you should all play the mlp8bit game. It's actually a really good game, not just thrown together. Nice difficulty curve, good sound, good graphics, no bugs. Here's the link.

2. My pics from bronycon are online. They're just massive. A few are good sizes though. the first is from the traveling pony museum, the second was an amusing sign (though all of them there were clever).

Another Season 3 teaser clip. Holy crap, they've really bumped up the animation quality.
