Bronies: Why the hell can't people just accept the fact that someone watches a television show they don't like and move on?

Anti-bronies: BECAUSE YOU SHOVE IT IN EVERY DAMN PLACE IT DOESN'T BELONG!

I have to admit I get really annoyed seeing pony videos or pony references in things and places where I go to get away from ponies. I go to a Duke Nukem thread, holy shet there's a Duke Nukem pony thread. I go on Youtube and type in, "farts are people too", there's some kind of 'Fluttershy wants to be a fart (YOUTUBE POOP LOL)' video or some shit. I'd like to keep the ponies in their respective places, but it's gotten so popular people are talking about it friggin EVERYWHERE.

I could come up with a fuckton of reasons people hate the brony community, even the people at /mlp/ try to separate themselves from it.

And another thing, bronies are MASSIVE hypocrites.

"Love and tolerate!"

"DUDE I FUCKING HATE RULE 34!"

"DUDE I FUCKING HATE ANTI-BRONIES!"

"DUDE I FUCKING HATE 4CHAN!"

"DUDE I FUCKING HATE FURRIES!"

Love and tolerate isn't even an indirect reference to the show and the bronies, the group of people that made it up, can't even follow it. It'd be better as 'tolerate and accept' because more bronies know how to do that, but I've never met any brony who doesn't hate anything.

I thought I keep it private, but I won't. I had a major argument with Ross a few months ago, because of one of you guys, just going too far with pony thing at this forum.... I still remember that! And it came out, I was right in the end... Thanks for making me losing my nerves... :| and shakin up this delicate relationship :/ I still wonder if this argument just started all the other burning points... maybe yes, maybe no, but since then, ponies are nothing for me than guys causing me bad feelings and personal problems :P

And I didn't even care about ponies before, you were just some minor phenomenon for me.... you wanted to be spotted here, hell yeah I spotted you!

I know for a fact that I am not perfect. I cannot love and tolerate every nuance and thorn in my side, because then I'd pop like a tick and end up in the news with some headline like "GENOCIDE IN DELAWARE HIGH SCHOOL." I let people know how I feel about things if it's absolutely necessary. As long as it isn't with my parents, I'm very straightforward. Sometimes I will explode on somebody, but that's just a focused vent, and I ALWAYS make sure to apologize deeply afterward. But when it comes to people being a certain way, either because it's a choice or a hereditary disposition, I never look down on them. But if they're being a blatant asshat, I'll speak up. I actually admire gay couples, especially lesbian couples, because they look SO much happier than their hetero counterparts. Anyway, that's pretty much me right there. I consider myself a brony because I love the show, but I will not be affiliated with a bunch of douchers.

Life is just a time trial; it's all about how many happy points you can earn in a set period of time

Bronies' toleration? Yeah I can imagine that. "We will tolerate you watching MLP and liking it but if you hate it, f*ck you."

I personally just try and ignore people that hate on the show; the same way I ignore stuff like Rule 34. And while yes, admittedly I was pretty pony-crazy for a while, I now see why that annoys the hell out of some people, so I now try to just NOT shove ponies in non-bronies faces. If they ask me about it, sure. If they don't, then I'm not going to start stuffing MLP down their throat because I feel like it.

It's the same way with a LOT of other popular fandoms. Dr. Who, Star Wars, WoW, Star Trek, you name it; they all annoy SOMEBODY. Yet, they are more or less accepted, and usually just left alone, as long as they don't scream their message all over the world, trying to convert every living human being to their personal fandom. In my opinion, the same should apply to the brony community. Just STOP shoving it down everyone else's throats, and they might actually hate you less. Who knows, they might even be intrigued by your positive behavior, and want to see what all the fuss over the show is about.

All in all, I think it just boils down to some people in the brony community being utterly hypocritical; this needs to stop. If they don't want people hating them, stop plastering your ponies into every other major franchise in existence; and following it it up with "If you don't like it, fuck you and gtfo". Just tolerate haters, rather than flaming them, and you might actually get some respect.

The way that I act changes person to person. I have 3 friends who know what a brony is and don't like them. One of them is a manly man who just can't comprehend it and wouldn't be caught dead watching it. Second one is someone who spends too much of her time on DeviantArt and doesn't like it being flooded with pony art. She watched the first episode and kind of liked it, I tried to convince her to watch sonic Rainboom. She may be turned yet. However, with both of these people I purposely bring up ponies as little as possible, and whenever it's about to come up (what's that on your shirt? Where were you Saturday? What were you and him talking about? etc.) I just say "ponies" and they do a twilight grunt and continue on their merry way.

The third guy I like to mess with. He works at my dorm, so he kind of HAS to be nice to everyone. He also wears a shirt with a completely unrelated unicorn on it for the lulz. Just about every time he comes in my room I switch to something pony related just so the topic comes up, I'll occasionally say "Hey, catch!" and throw a blindbag to him, and I tell him every time I was going to a meetup. It was really just because I liked messing with him, and because he's actually kind of a jerk but pretends to be nice because it's his job.

So like I said, it depends person to person. I will treat my friends with respect and value their dislike, but I will preach it like a religion to anyone who so much as brings it up. Just last night some guy (person #2's brother) asked why I would ever watch "that show" and I ended up going on a huge rant, but only after warning him profusely that the explanation was not a short one and that I feel very strongly about it. He did not end up becoming a convert, but the said he was satisfied with the answer.

Well I don't hate any of those and am almost an expert in all but one of them (I could never get /4chan/). I like to think that I love and tolerate almost anything once I try to think from there point of view

I think "end of discussion" implies we won't be getting an answer, and if we did it would just make that person feel horrible, because chances are they didn't mean to cause a huge argument.

If it was me, I apologize profusely. If it was anyone else, well, I feel wrong just blaming them and continuing on as normal, so I'll apologize on his behalf as well. Like I said, I'm sure it wasn't his intention.

Now can we get back to talking about ponies instead of arguing about them?
