I liked the new episode, and I admit that CMC episodes are becoming a guilty pleasure for me. But am I the only one that thinks the CMCs really got the short end of the stick here? Everyone is telling them how hilarious and great their stories are, then (from their perspective) everyone is suddenly offended and hates them, for doing the same thing they'd been doing all along. The same people who were encouraging them then turned against them because the articles began to personally offend them, without explaining why that was any different than the other articles. Instead of explaining that what they were doing was wrong from the start (Something the CMCs knew, but didn't act on because everyone was encouraging them), Rarity and her friends decide that the best idea would be to tell everyone in town who was printing the gossip about them, knowing full well it'd make CMCs the most hated ponies in town. Wasn't that a bit cruel? And in the end, they are the ones apologizing, being treated like they're being brought back into the fold, and not ONCE does anyone consider the mixed messages they were getting. They're probably not even thinking that, they're just grateful they're accepted again. Maybe I'm being melodramatic (probably am) but WOW they got screwed over.

Aside from that, Big Mac's lines were the best part of the episode. Congratulations Big Mac, you're the new Applejack.

Well, there are now more Cutie Mark Crusader episodes than Rainbow Dash episodes this season; this simply unacceptable. Unlike most CMC episodes, I actually kind of liked this one. I thought about it a lot and then I realized why: I was deprived of the Mane Six's screentime, so when I got glimpses of them, like a drug, I thought it was the best thing in the world and I didn't take them for granted. I thought their scenes were funnier than usual, but in flanksight, they're just as funny as the other episodes; I just though they were funnier because I missed them.

Hmm..never thought about it that way. I guess that really speaks more about Rarity, than anypony else. Rarity was laughing until she was the victim, so I guess you can take that what you will about Rarity.

Pinkies always the one with the biggest boobs for some reason.

And Rainbow Dash is always the one with the small boobs. I personally don't like massive boobs.

I personally don't like ponies.

Um...okay.

Even the April Fool's PONY.MOVs are good.

So, after my first impressions of My Little Dashie were "meh" when everyone was like "OMG, SO SAID!!!!!1111!!! :(" and I thought that, for the most part, it was competently written, I decided to read it again...

I realized why I didn't cry: it's not sad. I did get a lump in my throat, but that's because I was emotionally moved, not sad. I don't know why people say it is. Read it yourself sometime, it's worth checking out. Here's what I thought. Doctor Who series 2 spoiler as well:

Ok, well, it's sad to some extent. The pitiful life of the narrator at the beginning is very sad. When Rainbow runs away and the narrator is a wreck, I have to admit, that was pretty sad. The imagery with the rain and him hiding under the tree was very atmospheric and touching. But it's not a "sad" story, by any stretch of the word. I wouldn't even classify its theme as "sad". On the contrary, it's a very happy story. The guy finds Rainbow Dash, and he spends the next fifteen years growing and maturing as a person. He becomes so much happier and has a new outlook on life.

I guess people think it's sad because of the ending, but that's not sad either. That's an emotionally moving, but happy ending. Both Rainbow and the narrator knew it was right that she had to leave, and then when she does leave, the narrator sits in his living room with all his memories of their times together with a BIG SMILE ON HIS FACE. He couldn't be happier. He even says that he's happy and relieved because Rainbow didn't leave on bad terms or be horribly separated from him. During the parting, both Rainbow and the narrator knows that it's right for her to leave and that it shouldn't be any other way. It's a story about a man who starts off depressed, but then meets someone who makes him overcome with joy and makes him see the world anew, and then she goes back to where she belongs and she leaves him only with good memories and happiness. Incredibly touching? Yes. Sad? I wouldn't use that word. Their parting, while hard, was necessary and they both knew it; but they were both better people/ponies for it. If you want a sad parting, I refer you to when the Doctor has to leave Rose. She was taken from him, before he got to say goodbye and tie up loose ends, to tragically to live in a world that wasn't right for her; that's a sad ending.

Very glad to read the story a second time, and I can easily see myself reading it a third time in the future.

It looks like people here care more about another MLP episode than FM...

No, but MLP comes out on a regular basis and for all we know it may just take another month before we see the next FM. And you can only talk about FM so much.

That is, until people start making fan fictions and other content.
