I have (after 209 pages and an endless number of memes) deemed it possible that this show might be watchable. After the 3 first episodes i cant really see what all the fuzz is about. Even tough it managed to strike my funnybone a couple of times, I am in doubts about if i should continue watching. Unless something spectacular is going to happen in a few episodes

Will something spectacular happen?

Well I personally began liking the show at episode 9. Episode 15 made me laugh more than others. (That's just my opinion.)

Something spectacular definently happens in episode 25.

I'm the same with Pinkie here. I liked it from the start, even if my starting attitude was more of a "god, WHY do I like it?!"

I only got into MLP and started liking it like I did because ABG watched it with me while we chatted over Steam.

Episode 4 is what finally made me like the show. My 2 favorite episodes are 16 (sonic rainboom) and 7 of season 2 (to find a pet)

Heh... new episode was great, but I don't have any reason to be amused at Derpy speaking.

The latest episode made me fangasm. It made me fangasm hard.

If she had talked, that'd been enough. If someone called her by name, that'd been enough. If one of the mane 6 acknowledged her existence, that'd been enough. If she had a very minor role in the plot, that'd be enough.

But it was ALL OF THE ABOVE.

TOO. MUCH. AWESOME.

HNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG

Oh, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw the ending coming from a mile away, as in, I knew what would happen at the rodeo before the opening credits started.

Yeah, I did. :P Still, entertaining episode overall, and not JUST because derpy became canon.

I remember googling a link to the new episode. I came across Equestria Daily and Derpy was plastered all over the sight. I didn't give her a second glance, and quickly found the link to the episode.

I was pleasantly surprised and I guess I'm ashamed to admit that I did bronygasm pretty hard. I'm so glad I didn't pick up on the clues on Equestria Daily. Can you imagine if you had that spoiled for you?

Oh come on, you shouldn't be reading forums on My Little Pony if you hadn't seen the new episode!

It's very much a character-driven show, like The Big Bang Theory or Seinfeld; the show is not going to be enjoyable if you don't like any of the characters.

Three episodes in? I'd say, if a single character hasn't implanted herself deep within your heart, I wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon. As soon as the character Rainbow Dash made her first appearance in episode one, I instantly knew I was going to love her the most. The only reason I kept watching after the pilot was for more Rainbow Dash. It was around episode four or five that I really started to love all the characters and their cute little antics.

What do you have doubts about? That it won't be that good? The stories aren't spectacular per se; for me, they're only good because I get to see these characters that I know and love in different scenarios. The characters are cute and extremely likeable--now that I think about it, that's the only thing the show has going for it. Sometimes, they cut to these three little ponies called The Cutie Mark Crusaders. The episodes with them are extremely sub-par. I speculate that the reason for this is because it doesn't have enough of the mane six. Even in the CMC episodes, the only good parts are the parts where the mane six make an appearance.

Think about it, everyone else: remember the episode "Call of the Cutie"? Name two parts you remember. I bet more than half of you said "Rainbow Dash's solution" and "Cupcakes."

So, yeah. What character do you like, HoboJim? Or, what character do you find the most tolerable?

If it's Twilight, watch Season 2 Episode 3 and then decide if you want to keep watching.

If you like Applejack, watch Season 1 Episode 4.

If you like Rainbow Dash, watch Season 1 Episode 16.

If you like Pinkie Pie, watch Season 1 Episode 25.

If you like Rarity, watch Season 1 Episode 14.

If you like Fluttershy, watch Season 1 Episode 9.

After watching one of those, at that point, you're on your own. But seriously, how does your heart not melt when you see this:

Derpy is the only reason I liked this episode.

Indeed. Though I also really liked all the character moments (especially with Pinkie and RD), and the reference to the Pinkie Swear (and the result of breaking it). No one who hasn't watched the first season would know why the point to their eye.

Oh, and I have a different opinion of which episodes best exemplify some of the characters.

Twilight: S1E15 (don't let the title fool you)

Pinkie Pie: S1E5 (don't start by showing him crazy versions)

Rarity: S2E9, S1E19 (less prissy than in S1E14)

Fluttershy: I think you meant S1E7, since S1E9 has very little Fluttershy. Also, S1E17.

My reactions were as follows:

Then when Apple Jack was on screen, and started talking, I was like:

Then when Pinkie Pie started talking I was like:

It was then, I knew there was no turning back, and that I was hooked.

As for Derpy, I'm still not getting why everyone's loving the fact that she's now cannon, I read her origin story and all that, but I'm still lost and confused about it all.

Besides the fact she's adorable, the only reason she exists is because of the internet. That's right. Without 4chan, Derpy probably would never have been seen again. The fact that she now has a speaking role and even exists as a character makes all the internet's bronies have the biggest mass boner you will ever witness.

It's one of those prolonged exposure things. The older bronies are more attached to the character from all the attention she's gotten throughout the months. Stories, on-screen appearances, fan art, all of that.

If I became a brony 2 weeks ago, I'd probably look at the attention she's getting and think wtf, but I've really started liking the character just from the numerous draw-friend appearances, and the occasional stories (one of them being the Worst Baker in Equestria series which was very amusing.)

also this: EQ Banner which popped up during Halloween.

So yeah, to see one of my favorite fanon characters become canon is a really big deal for me. It also says that despite what Hasbro does at times, they still love us. <3
