I do not think Bronyism is a lifestyle; such a mentality will not last.

Being interested in the show may no doubt last for years, decades even. Brad Bird's The Iron Giant is 12 years old and I still watch it all the time. Snow White is older than World War II for pete's sake. But inextricably binding that to a mindset and dedication of behaviours (on or offline) will prove boring or exhausting after some time, which will be the advent of the passing of a fad. "Bronyism" will die, but I seriously doubt interest in the show will die with it. This is why I've never attached myself to the term.

Oh Blue, you so silly. Once a Brony, always a Brony.

You will not get out alive. There is no going back

Despite the overall shit tone of Blue's words there, i must agree. Bronydom might last a decade, but after MLP: FiM is done for, I think the amount of bronies will go down, and will only be held by fanfics, Equestria Daily and Deviantart pictures. Surely it will remain in our hearts as an old tradition, but the euphoria and "family feeling" bronies have amongst each other will surely banish over time.

But, hey! When bronydom is over, it will leave a bloody big scar, one that will never be erased.

Look, I dont know about you, but my KIDs are going to watch MLP when they are growing up. I will watch episodes every now and again, so the bronydom will never die in me. Ponies have literally changed my life, and I owe it to myself to keep that spark alive in me.

I'm not so sure I agree with any of you.

First of all, anyone here who has watched original Looney Toons or Tom and Jerry most likely did so years upon years after they were being made. Same thing, though less likely, with shows like Transformers or Super-friends and such. Cartoons have great longevity, so FiM (and especially the MLP brand) will not be going anywhere anytime soon. Thats not really the issue here. We want to know not whether the pony will die, but whether the brony will die.

It will lessen steadily, then it will drop off hugely when the show ends, but there will still be plenty of bronies. They will slowly start to decrease, at least the active bronies who write fan-fics or do music. But there will always be people who love the show. As long as I live, I will say that there was a time in my life where MLP: FiM was the greatest thing I ever knew, even if its been replaced by then.

However, none of this really has to do with it being a lifestyle, since I always understood a lifestyle as being a way to run your life, if not for your life. And I would say ponies greatly effect decisions I make on an everyday basis.

Funny how my semi-silly attempt at a witty phrase has brought on another deep discussion about the future of Bronyism.

I mean the idea of calling eachother Bronies will fade from memory. No one regards with much distinction "Saxtonites" or "Tintinologists". (Saxtonites are adherents to the pseudoscience that is explained by Theoretical Physicist Curtiss Saxton to explain Star Wars, and Tintinologists are hardcore fans of Hergé's The Adventures of Tintin).

My ire is for the word only. I think you may be misinterpreting my opinion for a bereavement of the community (which it is not).

Take a good long look at how many bronies there are, it won't die that quickly/easily.

And the number rises alot quicker than you think. Most people only need the first few episodes to satisfy them.

PONY GENETICS! I was so right... Too bad I never said anything about it on here. I'm not sure I believe Carrot Cake's explanation though. If anything, Earth Pony should be the most dominant genetic trait. Maybe one would be a Pegasus because Cup Cakes relation is more closely related, but it would be extremely unlikely that one would be a unicorn. Someone needs to make a punnet square.

Friggin amazing! Best episode... EVER! Pinkie Pie is best pony, end of debate. Pumpkin is going to be best unicorn ever and Pound will be the best flier in Equestria, considering both their raw abilities. The piggy song was AWESOME! I can't express how much I loved this episode. So much ADORABLEZZ!
