finishing up dragon age awakening (put Dragon Age of for awhile idk why cause i loved it) and playing Cyberpunk 2077 an Farc Cry Primal when im feeling for something simple  . still playing Squad fairly regularly too . last game I beat was Far Cry Blood Dragon and i loved it

Tried to play "Venom. Codename: Outbreak" on my new 4k monitor. First level had mip mapping issues for me but 2nd was fine, maybe I tweaked something. In 4k you can see some seams on models you can not see even in 1080p lol.

Just recently got the game and all DLCs, and it's quite fun, despite decidedly last-gen animations and graphics, and absolutely horrific optimization.

Controls are perfect IMO, (at least for KB+M) sadly I forgot to confirm my undervolt settings on my GPU, and crashed my entire system before even finishing the tutorial.

i had been playing fallout: the frontier but after coming across some egregiously stupid things in the mod i had to uninstall it. apparently it is now going through a controversy due to one of the staff having created animated child porn or something, and the mod has been hidden on the nexusmods site. what a disaster

as far as i understand, it was drawn child porn, not real turned into a gif. it's not inside the frontier to my knowledge, it was part of their deviantart account. this is the link to the frontier's nexusmods page rn: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68009

So, they're punishing the entire community over a dev doing something shitty on a completely different site? Why not just ban from receiving donations instead, with a forced banner about the issue at the top of the mod page?

 

On topic: Star Trek Online. The new Klingon update is really quite good. They fixed 90% of the issues it's had for a decade. (the other 10% are a lot harder to fix than they could do in under a year)

my speculation is that they're probably deciding on whether to remove the content that zutheskunk worked on/created for the frontier, or have decided upon doing that already and have just hidden the mod until it's done. without being part of the dev team, there is of course no way of really knowing what's going on, and this is just my guess

 

i'm probably going to be replaying black mesa soon. if not that, definitely metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty

I'm amazed that no one else has used this control scheme since Freelancer made it originally. Also, this feels like a straight-up spiritual successor to Freelancer. (would depend on how easy it is to mod, and the final story) Cutscenes aren't all finished, but the voice acting is good, and the cutscene outlines sound good too.

 

I highly recommend buying this game, even in its early access form. (it's also less expensive than it'll be at release)
