ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: MAGE KNIGHT APOCALYPSE

Recommended Posts

I thought that title screen was familiar.

I suppose we have a new category of bad RPG now: Peashooter Minigun Games.

On the topic of sexy armor, I personally don't mind, but then, I'd be the person to handwave it with "she can dodge lots of things" or "she has super regeneration" or "she has a personal force-field."

Loved this video. I never heard about this game and it's easy to see why. Seems very middle-of-the-road in terms of those mid 2000s games that flooded the market. I was getting strong Final Fantasy vibes from the writing too, which is not a knock against Final Fantasy but its writing tends to be very... like that.

Try utilizing Cheat Engine first the next time you consider selling your soul. Since you're modifying the memory, you can do pretty much anything with it and it works with pretty much every single-player game.

Not only did Ross proactively answer this in the video itself, but this has already been mentioned in this very thread

Come the full moon, the bat flies whose boiling blood shall stem the tide.

I have to say, this was a bit disappointing. After seeing the title screen which brought fun nostalgic memories from the Well of Souls review, i was expecting to see Ross overcome another tough, unbalanced game, like he did with Well of Souls. What i got was him failing to understand yet another ARPG and resort to heavy cheating as a result. It's not a mystery why he always only scratches the surface of skills and attributes in games like these, he simply doesn't research them well enough to understand how to make his characters viable, and when they become unplayable because of it, he blames the game for it.

I had to stop the video the moment he settled for infinite life and energy cheats, and made the rest of the game (and thus the review) completely pointless. This is not new, he's been doing this all the way back to his Revenant days, where he used a one-hit-kill cheat and still couldn't finish the game. If by any chance you read this, Ross, trust me on this, cheating in a game review (or essay) is never a good solution, and i doubt many of your viewers were thrilled to keep watching when you made your character immortal, with no restrictions. The video would have been 10 times more entertaining if you kept pushing through the game to the end, or to a point where you can no longer continue.

Personally, whenever I see a scantily-clad women in an fantasy game like this, I go, "okay, so where's the speedos and loincloths and and thongs and precisely cut armor to show off pecs and abs for the guys?"

I mean, why not? Might as well keep it consistent.
