Where's best to start watching from?

I tried to introduce Freeman's Mind to a friend but he says he can't get into Episode 1. Anyone know where might be a better jumping-on point for him?

I mean, being a long continuous sequence is kind of the point of Half-Life. I'm not sure how much they'll be able to find enjoyment in if the first episode doesn't do anything for them.

 

If you have to start somewhere else, I guess episode 15 is where I'd say. Blast Pit always struck me as the most memorable sequence, which is funny considering what a pain it is to play.
