Can anyone explain to me the X-race and what the background story to "Alien Slaves" is, has it been explained yet?

 

Is the big momma the mother of the alien headcrabs?

 

What the hell did headcrabs feast before they saw humans O_O?

 

And what is the role of the gonome, a different species of headcrab from the same world, Xen World, X-race world?

 

Is the fish weapon in Opposing force also form the x-race world or from the Xen?

 

What happened to the US military in Half-life 2, they all turned into combines?

 

Are combines completely human or partially?

 

What the fuck are stalkers?

 

Damn... too many questions, feel free to think about these and get as much info as you can and post here.

Are combines completely human or partially?

CP is fully human, all others are cyborg humans.

 

What the fuck are stalkers?

Extremely heavily modified humans, mostly cyborg now.

The vorts are a race that fleed there from the combine, the big boss at the end of hl1 is the the leader of the vorts(at that point) and controls they telepathically. It is likely that the aliens that act like soldiers(guys with hornet guns and vorts for example) are controlled by the Ninlth(however it is spelled)where as the headcrabs, hound eyes and stalks would fall under the term 'wild-life'.

Some other headed alien. Remember they also like fruit (Dr. Kleiner's Lamarr loves watermelons) so they could feed from round things... not only human heads that turn into zombies

But what the hell is the X-race and why did we not see any in Hl2? They evacuated? Are the Cyborgish big alien looking things shooting laser, the pulse rifle shooting guys and the episode 2 alien looking things in the forest the remains of the X-Race???

Please read fully as I said None of the aliens are from Xen and from the story-arc of all 3 hl1s Nihilanth appears to control all the aliens that were coming through the portals as they were all fleeing the Combine, as for what X-Race is there isn't any expanded material on them.

 

Same way a Baby grows into a Woman? Because if you watch as you play through hl1 that the headcrab zombies look more and more like Big Momma with the hand starting and the split in the stomach.

 

Likely simply because in hl1 and in hl2 there is simply far more humans then anything else.

 

One other possibility on X-Race and the other one like that is they are from the Combine(more likely actually now I think about it) so the hornet gun/X-Race/Gargantua/etc could simply of been Combine soldiers coming through with the vorts and nih and would explain why there are none in HL2(Combine using as shock troopers not occupation troops).

Vorts can fire lightnings,if a headcrab ever tried to jump on a vortigaunt head they would be easily dispatched.

 

Gonome was supposed to be a mutation form between the regular zombie and the "big momma" AKA Gonarch,since we dont see either gonomes or Gonarchs on HL2 it is believable that certain conditions must be fulfilled for a headcrab to evolve into Gonarch;most likely those conditions are blocked by the suppresion device on HL2 as a side-effect or some other outdoor Earth element,since we only see gonomes on Black Mesa's underground.

It's worth pointing out that the expansions to HL1 were not developed by Valve so the things in them are not necessarily considered part of the story. The addition of the new aliens in Opposing Force can be easily explained by the fact that you can no longer fight the soldiers since you are one of them Which mens they had to find some suitable replacement.

Doesn't matter whether valve made it, or not because valve ask/commissioned gearbox to make them so yes they are canon. thats like saying the 6th book of the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy isn't part of the story or the last 3-4 books of the wheel of times aren't part of the story either.

Dude, first of, those are add-ons not mods. Mods shall not be considered but add-ons are official story line additions.

 

Secondly the black ops are the replacement of the soldier not those aliens...
