The developers are German and think Reh is the female Hirsch. Consequently, everything in the game feels kind of stupid and half-assed. Building and action seems to symbolize rather than show. The easiest example is that you have to build a landing stage in the tiniest pond to enable your workers to fetch water. 

 

It takes the beatiful simplicity of a Banished, overthinks it and breaks it completely.
