Genre: RPG

Year released: 2019

Ross's notes: Hugely promising, completely onboard with the theme, but having a reliance on rations acts as a constant timer in what's a narrative-focused game.   Giving up for now, may reconsider with mods.

Pass, I hate Lovecraftian games that treat the original material as just something to reference: they're the story equivalent of an asset flip.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I didn’t know much about it at first, not even that it was a Kickstarter project. I gave it a try, but ran into a game-breaking bug that forced me to stop playing. I tried again three more times, but had no success until about three months later when a patch was finally released. Unfortunately, to my disappointment, I found out that the game was unfinished.

There are two quests that direct you to certain locations, but these locations simply don’t exist in the game—the main quest just ends abruptly. I later learned that the developers made this decision due to a tight schedule. But honestly, I would rather wait and play a complete game than deal with an unfinished one. However, they had a calendar to stick to and had promised a release by a certain time, so they rushed it out.

The game has so much potential, and that’s what makes me sad. As it stands, it’s just not worth it.
