That threw me off as well.

 

I wanted so hard to enjoy the game, but there were so many things that spoiled it for me that I just can't play it. I'd rather play an atmospheric FPS like Doom 3.

I just didn't like the horror elements or the story. It tries so hard to be scary it comes right around becomes funny.

 

And Kendra, or as I call her; Bitchface, is a horrible character and I think she is just awful.

She is supposed to be awful, late in the game she turns around against you. Thankfully the Hivemind saves the day and gives her what she deserves.
