GreedFall

Went for a magic and guns build. A decent, fantasy RPG title with a 12-15 hour story that got stretched out to a 30-35 hour game. Fairly easy to pick up and play for some one who isn't all that familiar with these types of RPGs. Kind of reminds me of the early Dragon Age games, so I get where the comparison to "OG Bioware" come from when describing Greedfall.

Kind of straddles the line between Hazy and Good/Great.

BJ! We need you defending us with the MG42!

"an annoying grind that's playable" would be a perfect description for this. I don't think I've ever finished another game that bored and annoyed me to this extent. at no point does this product ever rise above mediocrity, but it successfully manages to fool the player into thinking that something better is coming. ouch, this combat is awful, but it'll probably get better if I get better gear and familiarize myself with the mechanics. ouch, these dialogs and fetch quests are awful, but maybe the story will get interesting later. well guess what, the proverbial dragons never came, and your enjoyment will hover around the "meh" until the very end. I sincerely wish for these devs to never work on another project again, because they clearly learned nothing from their past mistakes (in case you don't know, it's the same studio that brought us such "masterpieces" as Bound By Flame, Mars: War Logs, and The Technomancer).

Decided to play it this week after playing through the tutorial and stopping when it released.

Game is a solid 8/10. If it were judged solely by gameplay alone it would be like a 6/10, but the setting and story really bumps it up in to the "Good" area.

Definitely not games as a service!

Fuck, man. Everything. I push buttons. I turn dials. I read numbers. Sometimes I make up little stories in my head about what the numbers mean.
