Anyone else heard about this? Video here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2FrLwkgLZk

I've played it a bit myself, really fun twist on an FPS.

Is that a mod, or did Bungie release it to the public? I am still really confused.

Bungie made it and released it through Achievement Hunter. The file is authored by Bungie.

It looks great, but quite complicated

Its actually pretty simple once you get the hang of it. set an objective marker with a board center tag on what map you want to play on in forge, load it in custom games and voila, chess!. Float by what piece you want to possess, stop when you want to end your move.

Being an avid player of Halo: Reach, I'll tell you right now that the chess mod is shitty. First of all, the game can't tell when someone is in check and the game will yell "check!" at the weirdest times. It also allows you to make a lot of illegal moves.

It also doesn't let you castle or en passant, so it's a gimmick, if anything.
