That game that only You Like

Recommended Posts

Well the only obscure game that no one around where I'm from has heard is Psychonauts. What's even sadder is I don't know anyone here that's heard of the Half-Life series, there's a lot of Halo series/X-box fanboys here.

Just remembered another, this was one of the most memorable games from my childhood. It was one of the 5 games my dad used to own ( Recoil, Carmageddon, Tiny Trails, Flight Simulator and The Longest Journey ) and man I loved it. It was an arcadey tank game that I seriously recommend to everyone, you could find heaps of awesome weapons like missile launchers, mortar cannons, lasers, napalm, freon cannons and nuclear warheads. There was also 4 different tank conversions that you could turn into at any time- BFT ( battlefield tank ), motor boat, submarine and hovercraft.

Hey I liked that game too! I was glad he finally realized how much easier it to use guns

He needs guns to get that DAMN fourth chaos emerald.

I loved this game, it was sort of a skynet style story line only with the WOPR computer trying to take over the world. you could play as either side and operated several vehicles and could switch between them in real time and command you AI comrades. during game play, the defcon meter would slowly count down from defcon 5 to 1. You could give your self more time by killing enemies and accomplishing objectives as doing so pushed the meter back up. If you reached defcon 1 bombers would try and destroy your units and your base (& they usually succeeded).

It was apparently released for both PC and PlayStation though I heard they where slightly different.

I used to love BattleTanx: Global Assault... I never actually owned it, but a friend had it, and it only took me a couple hours to get better than him at it.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

I remember that game! There was a commercial for it on a Power Rangers In Space VHS I bought when I was little. Man, that game was awesome, I don't care what anyone says.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits... it's an 8 year old PS2 RPG. I'll be baffled if anyone here has heard of it. It's one of my all-time favorite games, but it's never had any sort of anticipation.

Here's the Wikipedia article about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_the_Lad:_Twilight_of_the_Spirits

Brutal Legend. Although it did end up breaking the 1 million mark, EA can still suck a dick for royally fucking up the game's advertising.

I love you, yet can't stand to know you exist.

But that's mostly because of nostalgia.

Man, being a child was awesome, I could really immerse into those video games. Just pure fun.

I played a demo of the PC version. Was a pretty cool C&C ripoff.

As far as I know, I'm the only one here, or one of the very few that really enjoy the Final Fantasy series, and not just one of the Final Fantasy games.

I know someone who enjoys both Final Fantasy and Xenosaga. He loves RPGs of that type.
