I find comedy/SoL stuff ather mundane and uninteresting.

I couldn't get into The Office Gilmore Friends of Seventh Heaven either.

Someone already posted borderline echhi already. They were making an abotomical point, apparently. But I'm honest with myself- if the active ingredient of a stew is pornography, then that's the main metric for judging the stew's taste.

I don't hate the art, I hate the massively over the top anti-realistic BS they pull... Like having a "hero" that doesn't want to save the world in the most awesome way possible because their dad was mean to them 16 years ago once. Or a kid with no super strength swinging a supposedly mundane sword twice as long as they are tall, and it not being an absurdly unwieldy item, and acting like it weighed nothing.

In short, it's not the cartoon I have issue with, it's the poor storytelling quality that everyone just blindly accepts. I've actually seen better storytelling quality in hentai than I have in most of the popular animes. (at least they link supernatural things to supernatural abilities, not just to nothing whatsoever)

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

There will always be an anime or manga which will like even the worst anime hater, this is for sure. It's all about the first episode..and you can't stop afterwards. This is magic of anime, it doesn't look interesting sometimes, until you start watching it. I like watching new anime series during the weekends, laying on my waifu body pillow, I would spend all my days like this, but then I will have no money, sadly. I wish I lived in a world where you could just sit and watch anime the entire day.

Nah, it's the Three Episode Rule(TM)
The first episodes of my now favorite series were nothing to write home about

I dunno, I can't really name any great TV shows that didn't start on a good first episode, unless maybe something went really weird with production or else the first episode is just filler content, like with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

I guess I don't like the first episode of Bojack Horseman all that much, but that's definitely the exception to the rule, and it obviously didn't turn me off the show.

Code Geass, HxH, Death Note, Monster all had pretty meh first episodes.

I would disagree, in that Death Note and Hunter X Hunter have pretty great first episodes, Code Geass is kind of stupid, and I haven't seen Monster.

Code Geass is cheesy machiavellinism  and mechs. It's also a completely insurmountable beast of literary risk/pay-off and ambition that will never be outdone.
