Afro Samurai, would anyone classify this as an Anime, or not, I mean it is an OVA to be honest and well its also got 2 games and its got mr MOTHERFUCKER AKA Samuel L Jackson in the game and as a V/O Actor and has music from the RZA, its almost like that scene from KILL BILL but as a whole movie series....Idk I just wanted to see what everyones opinions were on Afro Samurai, I will say that it was something I didnt know if I could classify as an anime or not but after watching Cowboy Bebop it got me to get back into anime in some ways because I never was much of a fan of it for a while, but now I know I dont feel alone around here liking it, heck I wonder if theres any anime that Ross likes, I mean he does say he likes Wallace and Grommit for animation but does he like Japanese Anime thats what id like to know

So, I've been thinking of getting back into Naruto. From what I've been told, I seem to be around the time where I should make the jump to Shippuden. Should I just make the jump? Or should I re-watch certain episodes? It's been years since I've last seen Naruto. I do remember the Chūnin Exams, Sauske leaving, Naruto learning the Resengun (holy shit, I got that right on the first try), among a few other things. I just don't remember the how/why/when/what of these things (including things I didn't mention).

On a side note: my preference is dubbed, so will I be able to find it dubbed, or will I have to deal with it being subbed?

I've started watching some on-going series again and I have to say my choices of what to watch has been astonishingly good.

Dimension W for instance is a a good cyberpunk story. In 2036 where a new dimension, Dimension W, was discovered and it turned out by putting 60 large power plant facilities built by the goverments of the world but run by the company New Tesla. The show takes place around 2071 where New Tesla has a world wide monopoly on these power plants as well as fusion coils that act as batteries, simply called coils. Though, of course, people still make illegal coils which are actually pretty harmful due to how unstable they get, this leads to our protagonist Kyoma, a special ops war veteran turned coil hunter who in the first episode meets the side-kick Mira a advanced robot with artificial intelligence made by the discoverer of Dimension W.

Despite it's occasional fan-service of Mira it's a rather good show that has an interesting plot and cast of characters. I'd recommend giving it a watch

Next is Boku Dake ga Inai Machi or ERASED is a story about a manga artist who has the random power of going back in time, before it was only for a few seconds before whenever a accident was about to happen but due to certain circumstances he is sent all the way back to when he was in grade school in order to stop a serial murderer of grade school girls by trying to prevent certain circumstances of the first victim's murder. I can't really say much without spoiling it but it's definitely better then I'm probably making it out to be, I'd definitely give it a watch as it's a really interesting murder mystery that makes you really anticipate the next episode

and finally we reached the Gundam part of my watch list.

Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans takes place in it's own timeline (like a lot of the Gundam series) where it doesn't take place during a war but AFTER a war, 300 years to be exact, dubbed the "calamity war" where the Moon was badly damaged and all of the previous governments of the earth sphere went into full collapse.

The result of the war is best described as capitalism happened. The earth was now governed by four economic blocks that hold complete control of the colonies in space and on mars, this control is basically tyranny as the workers are paid next to nothing and treated badly leading to areas like Mars and colonies where low-wage workers live to become little more then poverty-stricken slums. The show follows Tekkadan who are a group of kids, some voluntary others as slaves, work for a mercenary group on Mars.

The kids are treated poorly by the first class members of the mercenary group and some are even subjected to dangerous and outdated medical treatments that improve their ability to pilot mobile walkers and mobile suits. This system basically means they can even pilot a mobile suit without even needing the ability to read. The teenagers of the group get so pissed off at the first class that they revolt, either killing or kicking out the old members and taking over the group. The newly formed Tekkadan now takes up a contract previously given to the original mercenary group's leadership to escort Kudelia Bernstein a young daughter of a politician of one of the economic blocks to earth in order to negotiate Martian independence.

It's writing is alright but it's real charm like in most Gundam shows are the battles and mecha designs which I feel are really good. It's an enjoyable show to watch.

During my life I had only managed to finish one anime and that was Death Note. Starting from yesterday, One Punch Man has been included to this short list. And I really like what it has to offer so far.

It's a wonderful satire on the over-saturated cliches present in thousands of animes and it's a joy too see them be deconstructed and shat upon with such hilarity. 8/10

Actually Yngwie of Haus Malmsteen, feefty eenches of pure Svwedish beef.

So, started watching Fullmetal Alchemist after I stopped a little while ago. And oh my gosh, why did I stop? This series makes me so emotional. XD It's great. I love it so so freaking much.

The expressions and action is what gets me the most. Just seeing a character and what they'll say and what they'll do when they brush past death. :P I sound psychotic, but I love it. The voices are perfect too, oh my goodness. Such an amazing series. :D On episode 16, will watch the rest of this, then go and watch Brotherhood.

I have never watched any anime, but is "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust" any good?

I'd only watch it because I read that Mike McShane voices somebody's sarcastic right hand, and that made me a bit curious

If you need anime recommendations take any from this list. I have a wide taste but mind you the ones under "finished" aren't all necessarily ones I would recommend.

With Brotherhood, you can skip the first 5 episodes, it's basically the same thing.

It's been a while since I've seen FMA, I might watch it again. Even though I just started re-watching Witch Hunter Robin.

Aso:

what they'll do when they brush past death.

That is all.

You know, it's interesting. I call myself an anime fan, but i've only seen like 10 shows, mostly dubbed. I would watch more, but finding ones I would enjoy, I find really tricky, and then finding them dubbed (my personal preference), is even harder.

I prefer Edward's dubbed voice way more than the sub version of the show. It just seems like it has more character IMO. But that might be because I'm a racist western snob who can't tell the different between Asian cultures. :P

It's a really amazing show though. Up to episode 22. XD I've been binge watching a little. But is the first 5 Brotherhood episodes EXACTLY the same? Like, same animation thing? Or is it just same plot that is visually reworked? Cause I'll watch it if it's the latter. The art style of anime is so stunning.

And this is probably one of my favorite scenes. Like I said, I like it when the character has a brush with death. To hear the screams and agony of those just trying to survive. Hehe.

Going off of memory here, but I want to say it's the same, and I was ballparking with the first 5 episodes thing. Now visually, here's a comparison:

IMO, it's like going from PS3 to PS4 (visually of course)

I've watched it, is good. But it's not as good as the first series. It's still worth a watch though I think, a lot of new things come up. But it doesn't seem to have the same vibe as the first series did. :S

Finished the first series. Here's my emotional rant sooo... spoilers. :P

Whyyyyyyy!?!?! Nooooo, Ed can't be in fucking Munich, I wanted him to stay with his brother and family. ;-; Nyoooo... This is unfair! I'm going to sue people. XD I want a different ending! Someone please tell me that Brotherhood doesn't end this way. I want Edward to be with Al, and I don't even care if Al is still stuck in his suit of armour, he can deal with it. XD I just want them to be together cause they've got the sweetest bond ever, oh my gosh. Please no.

Yeah, things are different

Also, before you watch Brotherhood, you might want to watch the movie Conqueror of Shamballa. It takes place (right) after FMA.
