For me, the best is FullMetal Alchemist, Anime and Mangha books. Books are even better though

I remember watching the Cowboy Bebop movie while babysitting someone. One of my coolest experiences ever.

Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the few animes that really moved me while watching the first episode. I can't believe I didn't mention it!

 

Also, I bought several volumes of the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga and also checked out the anime. The anime was okay and stayed somewhat close to the manga, but I prefer the manga by far.

I chose Death Note, but I'd have to say Bleach is next to it. And I much prefer the Japanese voice actors and English subtitles, considering the English voice actors for Bleach are terribad, especially the guy who does Byakuya; the Japanese voice actor for that character is far superior at capturing the man's character in voice.
