Just a thanks to HaroldPortato for the link - in the end just had to revert my save and then continue with many different saves as a precaution until I finished the game.

Is that a cutscene, or something you can build in-game (google isn't helping much further than "there is something like an airship in this game series")?

I haven't played fallout 4, but I think those buildings are from it
