Teens and adult "problems"

Probably this topic will be removed because of the initial idea behind it, but it bothers me too much.

 

Recently I visited a... webpage to watch some vids(figure it out). After browsing the comment section for lulz I came across an interesting(or disturbing) comment. Roughly it sounds like:

 

i'm 13,m,bi,text me (so-and-so number).

 

The creepy thing is that I found quite a few similar comments in other comment sections. And that scares me a great deal. Now, I have no illusions about teens and their "playtime", they do it anyway and that's basically normal, but isn't this exact type of it really f*cked up?

 

And I'd like to avoid explaning the comment itself, It's not hard to understand.

As far as I know, the amount of comments like that don't get much attention anyway. X3 Most of the time, the comments would usually just be trolling or spam anyway. Not to say, there are some teenagers who do that, and a '13' year old's group is... eh, borderline teenager in my opinion. I'd still class them as a child really, but that probably makes this whole thing worse. XD From personal experience, and others... As soon as a kid hits '13', they get this sudden mindset that they can do whatever they want. Like; "I'm a teenager now. I can do what teenagers do." Which is not the case at all. And this usually results in reckless behavior and doing things that WILL be regretted later on. XD

It is disturbing to see comments like that sometimes... but I don't usually get too fussed up over it. It's their silly mistake and usually nothing will come out of it. However, it is dangerous to be posting stuff like that on the internet in the first place. In the end, it's up to the parents to teach their kids what to do and what not to do. Parents are one of the bigger influences on a child/teenager's life, especially at a younger age.

 

In summary; It is fucked up. XD But thankfully, I doubt anything really comes out of it.

I also don't think this thread is much of a 'Civilization problem', it's awful, yes, but it won't kill the entire world. X3 I might move it to the Serious Discussion topic. I'll think about it.

But it exists. Trolling, stupidity, general stubborness or screwd-up mindset - it still exists and I simply don't like the fact that it is applied to this age. I didn't raise the question of "close relationship" to my GF back in a day solely on the fact that I was 15 and she was 13 and this discussion back there looked awkward, so we just resorted to kissing and touching(not in THIS way) each other. And we both were aware of the term "sex" and how it goes.

 

Or maybe that's just the difference of mindsets between our nations. Dunno.

It doesn't help that sex is pretty much everywhere you look now-a-days. On magazines, you see women barely dressed... television will show off all kinds of things... music today is absolutely horrendous, like goodness me - the amount of pop music, the most popular kind of music, that has something to do with sex is WAY too high for my liking. The future of the teenagers and kids today really rely on education and parenting. Sex ed classes are a must, no matter who or where. You can be aware of sex and not have to do it. Some parents try to keep their kids far away from it, thinking that ignorance will solve their problems. But no, it'll make it worse.

Ignorance doesn't solve anything. Especially something so integral to the human condition. The best we can do is provide the proper education and try to provide the proper legal protections and enforcement. Trying to keep people safe through ignorance of the problem is begging for failure.

I mostly say this because my two 13 year old cousins and my 14 year old cousin all don't even act remotely like that. Though that's not a very big demographic to go off of heh.

Also I'm sure the mere concept of using "virginity" as an insult has done nothing but fuel the mad dash to lose it as quick as possible.

Especially the 'virginity' stuff. So many seem to think that it means that someone is incapable of getting someone, when more often than not they just want to wait for the right person, or at least someone that isn't infested with STDs.

Firstly, I'm sure that in 99% of the cases if you see comments like that on a public forum it's one sort of police or another setting up a honeypot bait in the hope of attracting an odd naive and desperate paedo...

 

Now, as far as sexualisation of society is concerned - I think it is much less of an issue than it is seen and presented. Sex is one of the deepest and strongest instinct we have. Humans want to have sex even in societies where all overt sexuality is forbidden. Arguably, there are more sexual violence and depraved porn use in such places than in societies more open about sex. Also, it is only recently that we even have developed the concept of minors and the age of consent. In the past - age 12 was old enough for marriage or prostitution. In many countries it still is. Romeo and Julietta were underage by today's measures.

 

And - a data point from my own experience - I grew up in a place where there was no "sexualisation". Sexy ads? There were no ads at all in the Soviet Union Did it somehow stop me from craving sex from my early age? Not at all. Neither did it reduce the spread of STDs, teenage pregnancies etc. And the amount of paedophiles is constant and not dependent on the sexual content around (my own thesis but I challenge anyone to disprove it).

 

I've been approached by paedos a few times when I was young. Was I bothered? Yes. I wondered how these ugly old men could be stupid enough to think I might be interested in them... Would my reaction have been different if there was MTV channel on TV then? Not at all. Remember - "sexualisation" is there for sales, not for sex. Sex will happen anyway.

 

So, my firm opinion - can't change human nature. As soon as we grow up from toddlers we want to play with our willies (sorry, Jeb, if it feels like I'm excluding your half of humanity - just couldn't find the word What would you call it?). What we need is education - about STIs, conception, strangers and not putting personal information on the internet.

This is completely true on a scientific level, actually. Pedophilia is a psychosexual disorder, not just something one goes and does out of choice. If you stuck a baby born with it on an island by itself to live for 25 years and then brought it back to the mainland it would still be just as attracted to children. Anyone who thinks pedophilia is new and caused by or worsened by modern media is just a complete fool.

Actually, I encountered one one of them when I was 14. He just sat on a bench in a barber shop beside me and started to ask me very creepy questions - have I ever got laid, do I find boys attractive, whether I want to get a drink with him and the worst - he started to touch my... you know. I was so confused and freaked out that the only thing I managed to do is to get up, walk outside and call my friend, who was nearby and tell him to get his ass here ASAP. Then he walked me all the way to my home.

 

Now this was really scary. I didn't tell my parents anything, although I should. And I still remember his fast breath and sublte voice. Holy f*ck.

I would have thought, with all this media snot, that girls were to be more afraid of going out late at night - with rapists and shit. But goodness me! You miss a very unpredictable factor. It's human nature. No treatment, mind blockade or any other methods will work. Nothing will be able to change a mindset of a rapist, pedophile, maniac or any other "person" with issues this bad. They are BORN this way and they just can't help it. But to take care of this problem we need either lock them up in the darkest, deepest pit there is or rid the world of them.

 

I don't see any other alternative that will deal with their numbers more or as efficiently. And I'm not gonna EVER look at it in a different light unless I am shown a better solution and I personally beleive that it works.

 

It's funny, but sometimes I wish it were the f*cking Dark Ages where any serious threat to your life and the lives of your family or anyone who you hold dear to you could be solved by a simple sound of an axe falling down on someones' neck.

 

All that I just brought down on you is dark an unpleasant, yes, but regarding current situation in the entire friggin' world... I see no other option. Even if I tried hard to see.

 

And don't mention revenge ever. Until you feel the hit of a loss to some of these "problems", you don't really have a right to speak about it.

I guess we should shut down all psychiatric facilities and replace them with execution chambers. I seem to remember a certain someone who was big on that sort of thing...

 

We can treat these people, help them fight against their compulsions. Those that cannot be helped, and have acted, should be locked away to protect society but those who can be helped should be. There's an entire science to this, one improving every year.

 

But if you think there's human life out there that doesn't deserve treatment, or even to continue living, and that that decision can be made from your computer chair then there's little I can to sway to. Only hope that you never encounter any real power in life, lest we have yet another eugenics craze.

I don't really want to argue with you on this matter because your last comment is very hyperbal. Yes, human life is invaluable and EVERYTHING must be done to preserve it. If a person has some mental problems they SHOULD be treated to help them get rid of their problems or, at least, supress them hard enough to not bother the person anymore. Anyone should be given an attempt to get better. Even the worst part of humanity that has disgraced and discredited us as a species.

 

But if they can't or don't want to at all, then all you can do is to kill them or kill their "I" by forcing them to change, erasing their identity and creating a blank slate that can be "rewritten". And it is ALL you can do.

 

You're a humanist, I get it. You'll try to defend anyone, you love every human on this planet and you beleive that everyone is equal and should be aided in any situation imaginable. But I'll tell you a little secret: right now, at this very moment this entire world is ruled by fear, greed, fraud, lust and NOONE who has any kind of power on this blue ball wants this to change. You know why?..

 

Because they like it. And this is not what I see or what it looks like. This is how the things are. And this scares the living sh*t out of me.

 

And my "computer chair" is the only way I can express myself in any way to a different culture, because the situation in my country is so f*cked, that if I'll try to state any reasonable opinion or to call to anyone's humanity I will get eaten alive only because there are politicians that already do that and don't want any competition.
