Well this ended up taking far longer for a variety of reasons, however once you see the episode, you may understand some of why. Without spoiling much, I'll say that it's possible there will never be an episode quite like this one again. In addition to that, this episode also contains more music and voice actors than any other Game Dungeon to date. That definitely slowed things down, but I think it's worth it. At the very least, there's more than meets the eye with this breakout game.

Speaking of music, while I do NOT promise a fast reply, if you compose music that you think would fit future episodes, go and ahead and contact me at [email protected]. While I can use a variety, the kind I find myself needing the most is laidback, upbeat music that I can talk over. Alternately, if you're a soundtrack freak like me, feel free to give advice on how to organize soundtracks more intuitively / what system you use. I made a thread on this a while ago, but still haven't come up with an ideal system yet.

There will be at least one more video coming this month, possibly two.

Those were some very fucked up backgrounds in deed

Thanks for ALL of that. Playing that game must have been really tedious at some point. And tracking down the creator and releasing it as a freeware, that's just awesome, thanks Ross.

Anyway, with this kind of stuff you're not helping us with your gf regarding those "is Ross alive?" posts. Just saying.

Nice video. It was interesting... Hope you dont get harvested.

Im not sure if you are open for sugestions, but i would like to give some any way... They arent completelly forgotten games like this one or Niet 3, but arent much famous, are a little old and have very unique mechanics:

Savage I and II

God Hand

LSD Dream Emulator.

A game where you couldn't find it anywhere? Kind of reminds me when I tried getting Aro II. It was a game I definitely remember playing way back in school, but all I can find is a page on Moby Games with a few screenshots. While searching, the closest I got was this one thread where someone had said they got in touch with the developer, but of course everyone stopped posting after that. I was able to find the first game tough.

As for music, until you get a composer, have you tried incompetech? It's a site full of royalty-free music that might help.

I really enjoyed the "game archaeology" aspect of this episode, and I hope something like this can happen again in the future!

(*cough* Ever heard of the mysteriously hard to find Easy Bake Kitchen Playset PC game? *cough*)

Thanks for yet another great episode, Ross!

Very nice... I'll see about putting the games up on a torrent, simply because that's a great way to archive it across multiple storage devices.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

That was a bit anticlimactic. Still, though, it's nice that you've resurrected this series. For posterity's sake, could you upload the screensaver somewhere?

Yeah, turn on all the mushrooms; I don't care about the power bill.

Just submit it to myabandonware or abandonia or someplace. It's small enough they would take it.

It's included in the .zip

This video made me wonder if Ross is looking for voice actors, or if this is just a one-off. Hell I'll donate my voice to the Farm!!!. I was kinda waiting to hear news about the casting for the movie but now that there's voice acting in this video I wanna see if I can colaborate in the future too!

This was pretty much the most interesting episode of RGD to date, for obvious reasons.

Well done, Ross!

now that breakout games are covered, what about one of those games that demanded you to crop picture to certain size without some object touching crop line. These were pretty common games as well and some of them were actually very challenging- i remember one space-themed where you could shoot enemies that was extremely hard. Also they are very obscure by modern standards- i havent heard there has been new such game in last 15 years at least.

I hope you get what type games i mean, because i doubt i can explain it better.

I know what you are talking about. Dont know the name of the genre, nor any old games like that, but the single one that i know by name is Fortix. Check it out.

I think the only one I played was Qix. I don't think there's enough to say for a game dungeon, but I could maybe work that into another project I'm trying to get going later on.

Hope you don't get harvested Ross. Also, I'm blaming you if the entire world ends because everyone who has seen this episode has seen things they shouldn't. Thanks a lot Ross, hope to see you in our slavery to the warlock overlords.

If you played original one, then try Ultimate Qix (alternate name: Volfied). After some research i finally found that game again. It was released in 1989 and it has lot more content than original Qix. I even found place you can play it online: http://game-oldies.com/play-online/ultimate-qix-sega-genesis#
