RGD suggestion: Space Rangers

There is a game that i think was heavily underlook by (almost) EVERYONE (except steam greenlight, which is basically eye of sauron at this point), which is basically a classic in Russia. It's called Space Rangers (and it's newest "version" on steam "Space Rangers: a war apart" (should be "Space Rangers: Revolution", but they changed it for some reason)). The game is a wonderful mish-mash of little genres in a way that you would think would be the worst, but is quite great.

I would sent you a copy on mail, but

1. I am okay with pirating a game I already bought,

2. My copy is a country away,

3. It's on steam for 10,99€.

It's supposedly 4/5, underlooked, not English/American, has a version that is translated to English;

It's perfect for a game dungeon episode (The only things missing are if it was barely launchable, run like garbage without 50 programmes, was on console and had 90s piracy protection).

The music and art are rad.

Also achievements are rad hardcore (hopefully I'm using the word "rad" correctly here.)

Please check it out!

PS: if you find yourself especially impressed/unimpressed by the game, try installing some mods

(which would prove almost impossible,as I don't even know if there are mods (that are not in russian)).

PSS: by underlooked I meant barely noticed by anyone, sorry if I confused anyone with that.

First, there is actually a thread that covers the RGD suggestions...

It's supposedly 4/5, underlooked, not English/American, has a version that is translated to English;

The translation is very good... Or at least the translations for the original 2 and the pirated copy I have are. (and not the slightest underlooked or overrated from the sources I've seen, but then those are niche sources themselves)

It's perfect for a game dungeon episode (The only things missing are if it was barely launchable, run like garbage without 50 programmes, was on console and had 90s piracy protection).

The first two have all that except console and DRM...

The music and art are rad.

They are indeed.

Also achievements are rad hardcore (hopefully I'm using the word "rad" correctly here.)

Depends on which definition of 'rad' you're intending.

PS: if you find yourself especially impressed/unimpressed by the game, try installing some mods

(which would prove almost impossible,as I don't even know if there are mods (that are not in russian)).

There are mods in English, but they're usually made by people that shouldn't be using the language... Like ones that repeatedly type 'sity' or 'tipe' or 'yore' instead of 'you're'.

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

I've suggested it months ago, since I found out that Ross already knows of the game. I've also always wanted to get the rights to it and give it a more proper translation, in addition to more content, however I can't do that by myself. It's underlooked by many players, that is true, however it is easily one of the best games I've played. Space Rangers 2 came out in 2004 and I still think it with Reboot and the Revolution fanmod is better than HD, even though HD was made by the Revolution developers.

I also own one of the few physical English copies available, but due to its DRM, I really suggest pirating it. SecuROM can go fuck itself.

SecuROM is easy to bypass if you use the right programs. (but pirating will rip it out for you)

Oh, I just recall when it was a massive pain to deal with, and this is why I still don't use my legal disc for it. I think I've actually been using the same installation since 2004, since it doesn't need the registry for anything.

This game doesn't really seem worth $15.

What makes it more impressive?

250+ totally unique systems, total open world, procedurally generated, detailed faction relations, persistent consequences, on top of three completely different style mini-games (an abbreviated RTS for ground invasions, a very detailed text adventure for jail time, and an arcade style shmup for special space events) isn't enough to make it worth it?

Don't insult me. I have trained professionals to do that.

Are you serious? There are tons of cheats, and you can do just about anything with hacking. (want infinite money? It just takes a few searches in CheatEngine, and you can be a billionaire)
