Snarf, Pharaoh's Tomb, Rogue, and other top downs.

In the late 80's to early 90's we had MUDs and Labyrinth crawlers.

We've got Rogue

Snarf

Pharaoh's Tomb

and later with the advent of Windows, came Rodent's Revenge.

Games that were supported on unix and old Dos systems were what ushered some of us into the world of games. And as anyone that remembers playing games of this sort, these simple but solid games chartered a course for years of watching gaming evolution and enjoyment.

I'm sure that some people here won't go as far back as these games, but surely many here might have heard of later games like Chips Challenge and Ski Free. Not as obscure in those days, but old and mostly unmentioned of these days. But, on the positive side, a lot of these are now available online.

This thread could just have been a nostalgia discussion, because if anything, ^ those games just bring me back to others that aren't particularly top down. And maybe someone will stumble upon this page later and find a game they haven't seen in ages.
