lol it really is

This is the end of the line, and I'll rip you apart for what's inside.

Compensating wealth for what's more and more worthlessness.

The end of fear, the end of your life, I'll kill you right now, fucking die.

Eh, that's debatable. I think that's a very overrated film.

That movie was amazing. It makes me warm and happy inside whenever I watch it. I need it to be a cheery person during Christmas season. Otherwise I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder

Life is just a time trial; it's all about how many happy points you can earn in a set period of time

I suffer from seasonal affective disorder either way. When you have Christmas during summer, like we do, you tend to get that. Max temperature today was 30° Celcius.

I bring you mortal danger and cookies. Not necessarily in that order.

I'm not sure if mine is because of a lack of sun, though. It's just my emotional reaction to it being dark for 15 hours every day (I live in Delaware. It's not as bad as places like Norway or South Africa, but I still think it sucks.)

I have mixed feelings about it getting dark so damn early. On one hand I feel kind of shitty because the day just feels so much shorter which demotivates me to do stuff and actually causes me to get less done. But on one hand it really nice and cozy when everything is dark out and I am sitting in the living room by the fire under a blanket and tea watching TV.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know what you mean. It gets pitch black around 3 pm here.

I think I may have mild SAD. Maybe it's just the last few months of school finally taking it's toll; but I'm getting very little work done these days. I'm just so tired.

I think it would be interesting to see as a tourist. Making a trip up to Svalbard in either mid-summer or mid-winter would be a pretty big attraction for me. Not so much for living there.

Anyone notice that the only large difference between the Random and General thread is that in the general thread people talk about the current topic for a few posts before switching to something else?

I love you, yet can't stand to know you exist.

I've never been to Svalbard personally.
I've never been to Ellesmere Island (which would be pretty cool actually). I guess going to a colder part of an already cold country isn't on most people's to do lists. :P

Well the topic usually transitions, like we were talking about SAD, then daylight length, then Svalbard. The random thread is no transition.

I don't need Hollywood movies to feel good during Christmas, and I live in Norway.

The way you say that makes it sound like I'm pathetic because I rely on external factors to keep my seratonin levels normal and balance, and Polar Express just so happens to be one of those stimuli. At any other time, except in Winter, I am either very cheerful or very depressed. Just because you live in Norway doesn't mean I can't be more afflicted by SAD than you.

It wasn't meant to make you sound pathetic or anything, I was just speaking for myself, hehe. Personally, all I need is good friends and my family and that's all. And to me, the food I eat and the things I drink are much more efficient at putting me in a christmas mood. Movies rarely do that for me.

Chapter 5

Winston is confined in Room101, strapped to a chair in a way which rendered him completely immobile. In front of him were two tables on which stood two covered wire cages. O’Brien was holding a lever which would operate the cages. Impassively, O’Brien explains that what Room 101 contains is quite simply, “the worst thing in the world.” This varies from individual to individual. For some it may be torture, fire for some one else, drowning for yet others. For each individual, Room 101 held his greatest fear. When confronted with that, courage and cowardice lose their meaning, one will do whatever one has to do to avoid the horror in Room 101 as naturally and automatically as one will grab at a rope to keep from falling.

In Winston’s case, his greatest fear, his worst nightmare was rats and it was rats there were there in the cages in front of him. O’Brien informs him that he is going to open the cages and set the rats onto him. The rats are starving, they will sense Winston’s helplessness and devour him inch by inch. Winston cries out in terror asking O’Brien to only tell him what he has to do to avoid this. O’Brien vouchsafes no answer and lays his hand on the lever which would open the cages. In a total frenzy Winston sees the rats behind the bar and with a sudden flash of intuition realizes what he has to do to save himself. He has to take the final step of degradation, he has to betray Julia. It is no longer a matter of choice, before this threat, he is helpless. He cries out “Do it to Julia! Not me!” Repeating that cry he is aware that the lever has clicked back into place, the cage is closed. His degradation is finally completed in Room 101

I just had a vision last night while listening to the Serious Sam 3 theme. A vision that gave me an idea. An idea for a Serious Sam and Friendship is Magic crossover fancfiction that would work within the context of both of them. Though I'll need to play Serious Sam 3 to get an idea of what Sam's personality is really like to see if it works with my idea.

I love you, yet can't stand to know you exist.

That sounds like it could actually work.
