We had a music festival here a few weeks back, but I couldn't make it because it sells out quickly and I work the days it takes place on.

Then go get one. I would recommend a fast food place or something similar to that. I recently got a job at a pizza place (the boss openly says that I'm the best worker he has). To help get the job I recommend that you dress up nice when you pickup the resuma (I can't spell it) and if there is an interview show up early and in respectable clothes.

 

Once you have the job and want to keep it, it is important to remember that when you are working you are there bitch, you have no sole to lose. That is all.

So, today my sister approached me in a "there's something serious we need to discuss" kind of way, I was like kind of freaked out, maybe someone died, I don't know. Anyway, she asked me if I've been okay, and do i need someone to talk to. At this point I've no idea what she's talking about. She eventually says the music i listen to is worrying her that I'm suicidal. Yea, I've been on an Evanescence/depressing music bender for the last couple of weeks, and now because of it my family thinks I'm depressed. when that's not the case. Amy Lee has an amazing voice, I like to sing along to it, and those other "depressing artists" pretty much the same, or their really relaxing for me. I mean, when you have an upbeat song, i can perform just fine, but I invest a lot more emotion in the more depressing sounding stuff (by "depressing" we're talking about ballads...songs about inspiration. just because there's piano and melancholy lyrics, it's depressing I guess). I just felt like sharing that with people. Oh, and now I'm apprehensive about playing that kind of stuff around my family. i don't listen to whatever i'm in the mood for, I listen to whatever i can sing along with. how's that not simple to get?

I hear you, I avoid listening to my music (Symphonic/Power Metal, basically) around my family too, especially my grandparents. I love Kamelot and Nightwish, in particular. So when my sister seizes my phone (from my hip, no less) and starts playing my Pandora playlist out loud in a room where my Grandparents are sitting, and while she's staring at me like I'm nuts to boot, I am less than pleased.

I listen to t+pazolite. They think I listen to techno so I'll let them believe that. It's better this way.

Purdy good. Have a job, a girlfriend, and am getting ready to start dealing with college stuff (Virginia Tech). About to buy a car. Participating in a high school musical (LOL).

Nice, I work as a Walmart stocker, no girlfriend, I'm learning how to do stuff with my USB pre-amp (not the one you suggested years ago, a Behringer Xenyx-1204x), and I'm learning slowly how to master audio. My life is pretty much about music/voice acting stuff right now. By "participating" do you mean performing, or doing stagehand stuff?

I'm in the middle of a job transition, fucking finally. Not much else going on aside from college, which doesn't feel any less pointless than it did last year.
