How would one go about hosting a server? Do you host one yourself, do you play via other servers or how does it work?

Regardless, I downloaded Synergy for when you guys decide to do it.

I checked it out and apparently you can just start a server from the game, easy enough. But someone else is gonna have to host it, my internet is crap and I can never host anything. Just doesn't work.

Whoever hosts should make sure that their ports are forwarded correctly. Alternatively anyone could host using a VPN like Hamachi.

Yeah that's definitely not gonna be me. I can't even get Terraria to work right online.

 

I have yet to get hamachi up and running. Too lazy. :S

I think my problem is that I can't forward my ports. My father, brother and me have tried multiple times but it just doesn't work(my father used to work in IT and my brother is pretty geeky as well).

I got this. My connection should be, okay and I think the ports most likely needed are already forwarded on my router.

That would help for coordination purposes as it should display the correct time for everyone's local timezone.

Well I kinda wanna do it on a weekend anyway because with the varied timezones we have here someone is gonna end up with a time in the middle of the day anyway.
