You know, im really wondering how Ross will play out Ninliath first encounter, but first thing came into my mind was "thats the biggest monkey head i have ever seen"

 

I wouldn't think of his reaction to the boss, but more of how he's gonna fight the beast.

 

He Has Denied Himself access to all the powerful weapons in the game and probably missed the Crossbow, leaving him with only a SMG, Pistol, some grenades, and an RPG.

 

This isn't gonna end very well...

I think when he gets to the weapons locker at the end, still high on morphine, he'll agree to do it.

I think he'll collect more from the final weapons locker. If not, still not worried. He has a rocket launcher, that should do it.

 

Also, he got the crossbow. Only because he thought he could get high off the darts.

I think you can pick up a hivehand in the weapons locker, which may get an amusing reaction for him (either that or he just doesn't notice it at all). Shame it doesn't have the Black Mesa: Source animation for putting it on....

 

As for the Nihilianth, on my first playthrough I killed him with a crowbar. I kind of fell onto his head after breaking the last crystal and just kept bashing the spiky thing in his brain until he died.

What I don't get is how he apparently couldn't get high off it. He said it was xylocaine, right? You can totally get high off that, and he knows what it is so he should know that. Maybe he doesn't know the right dosage or proper administration method? I don't know the former, I'm not a doctor, but it's delivered through subcutanous injection as an anaesthetic or intravaneous injection or inhalant to either act as an antiarrhythmic or cough suppressant. Here, in the dart, apparently as an animal tranquilizer, which is nuts. The drug had serious overdose risks when intraveneously injected and I can't see veterinary professionals using it like that due to the significant risk of killing the animal through accidental overdose. That would be like medical professionals using heroin as a anaesth... Oh. Right. Okay, nevermind, I can totally see it now.

 

Anyway, it's pretty safe when subcutaneously injected and he's got plenty of injuries to put it to good use on. It'll numb the pain, he can get high off it, and the elimination half-life is two hours so it'll last a good, long time. Why he didn't use it is beyond me.

I have no experience with this! Just wanted to let you know. I had a similar drug, procaine, many times, but that's all. And you all probably have too, assuming you've ever been to a dentist. Xylocaine (the brand name for lidocaine) isn't that different from procaine (better known by the brand name novocaine) and my frequent experience with it is not a sign of any sort of habit. Except for a lack of dental hygiene, maybe. Totally not a druggie.

I must have remembered wrong. And I see why now. And you can still get high off xylazine, it's used as a recreational drug in a number of places, mostly Puerto Rico. Of course, sedating yourself with an animal tranquilizer in a warzone...

Off topic, I think Ross Scott sounds like Ashton Kutcher and Will Ferrell. Mainly Ashton Kutcher though.

Some time ago the forum was attacked by a mass of Russian (or it appeared so) spambots of different kinds. We had a few waves of them with dozens of posts in many threads. So that's the reason.

Yeah it was really bad at some point... for me it was almost a daily routine to clean up spambot threads for a while...
