It is my sad duty to report that a former contributor to That Guy With the Glasses, Justin "JewWario" Carmical, has passed away.

On January 23, 2014, he locked himself in a bathroom with his wife pleading to him from the other side of the door. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

R.I.P., Mr. Carmical.

 I have no words for the beloved member of ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, as I think Angry Joe puts it best, so I'm embedding his video here:

I was going to post this thread myself but wasn't sure if anyone cared. I'd especially like to take a moment to honor this guy for this video in particular that he made not that long before he died.

Honestly, this video originally kind of made me mad (Still kind of does) now that he's gone, because everything he says here just gets slapped down and rendered worthless because he didn't keep to his own advice. But the more I got to thinking about it, the more I appreciate it now than before because I realized that he meant it. Sometimes, I don't believe what people on Youtube, or anywhere on the internet, say when they're trying to pull at your heartstrings because, more often than not, they don't care, or it doesn't REALLY affect them, or it's all a con to keep you watching so they can keep making money, whatever the issue. The fact that this man is gone now just shows how much this issue - no matter how inconsequential some people might think it is - actually affected him, and he wanted people to know this.

It's three (can be four) simple words, but there's so much meaning you can mine from them just by thinking about it a little.

I never even watched this guy's videos, but just from looking him up he seemed like a really great guy.

Topics merged.

As someone who has had friends who have struggled with bipolar and depression, I can safely say it's not easy and very hard to deal with. It's sad that it ended like this for him, but I think wherever he is right now, he's at peace.

Rest in peace <3

This poor guy, he seems like he's got a heart of gold. I hadn't seen his videos before but just seeing how everyone reacted to him was enough to make me feel mournful for his passing.

I know I am a bit late to the party for this Thread but this really was hard on Brad Jones, The Cinema Snob honestly.....

This was the post he had about Justin:

I lost a brother today. One of my great friends Justin Carmical is gone. I remember on our long trips back from shooting in Kickassia, he and I often rode in the back of the van, the area where there's no seats, it's just a tiny area behind the backseat, and then the doors right behind us and we laughed and talked random shit like crazy. We both grew up on the same obscure movies, and even though he was a little older than me, it was like we grew up at the same time and same exact years. Shooting the shit with Justin was hilarious, whether it was talking about bad Brooke Shields movies, namely Pretty Baby, or our experiences in DJing at rather saucy locales, or 70s porno spoofs. The only birthday request I ever did was when Justin asked if I would ever do the Alice in Wonderland Porno Musical. Damn fucking right, who wouldn't love that movie? That's the kind of shit we talked about all the time.

God fucking damn it. I'm sorry, I can't say that enough. Just, goddamn it. What the fuck. I saw him 3 weeks ago, it was like seeing a brother again after he'd been away for a year. We got drinks, planned on movie shoots, and again, talk about some great shitty Hollywood classics. I was the one that broke it to him that Endless Love was being remade. I wanna be back there again when, giving the man the biggest hug in the world, because it was only this month that we did give each other the biggest hug in the world.

Justin really was one of the happiest guys I was ever around. The man was at home when he was around his friends. Both of us are. And now he's gone and all I can think about is how happy he said he was that we were all together this month at magfest. Fucking damn it. I tell myself that you can feel like shit for writing an entry like this, you can feel like shit for not seeing that maybe something was wrong personally, you can feel like shit for reacting however you react, but at the end of the day, someone extremely important to me is gone, a great, wonderful friend, and as old as I get in life, I'm never going to forget him. He was my brother before today, he's my brother today, and he's going to be my brother for as long as I live. I hope he knows just how much I and other people love him. Goodbye my friend. You sexy voiced beast.

From "Suburban Knights" - Justin made a magnificent Jareth from Labyrinth. I agree he did, and Brad made an awesome Indiana Jones, but Angry Joe just did a hilarious Inigo Montoya

I wish I could have met him, I know Bennet the Sage also has a Jew Wario hat in memory of him in his videos

I heard about him when I was first getting into Channel Awesome a few months ago. His "Roman cameo" in the Cinema Snob's review of Caligula, and his role as Jareth in Suburban Knights were pretty damn good. It was a big surprise for me when I heard about his suicide. He seems to be a really nice person, it's like he's some you'd love to hang out with. HIs "you are not stupid" video really got me hard when I saw that.

So did Noah Antwiler on one of his Spoony Experiment episodes.

Welp, now what?

Dang it, has it already been that long? Used to watch this videos quite a lot. Just goes to show, true clinical depression doesn't kid around. I have a friend who was right there at the same low point, but blind dumb luck made things turn out differently. He says he can still so clearly remember what it was like, just wanting to end it - but also how unbelivably insidious this illness is. He says it's like a cold that actively tells you that you're actually well for the first time in your life and you want to go for a swim in the ocean at freezing temperatures. It's been said before, but can never be said enough times: If you feel like you're at this point, please just take a moment to reconsider. In a very real sense it might not even be you who is directing your actions, it could simply be an illness that can be treated.
