Collective Foal Posted November 22, 2011 Just like how Dustbowl is an almost perfect remake of TFC's Dustbowl... Though it is better than 2fort... But TFC 2fort had more width. The forts were much wider and the battlefield by the bridge and water was much more open and less derpy/retarded. alphabetagamma Posted November 22, 2011 If I recall correctly, TFC 2fort was more linear than TF2's with no sewer and one path to the intelligence. Sentry central really. Share this post Link to post
Collective Foal Posted November 22, 2011 5HLY9ezrVtU Nope, they're almost identical. Only the sewer system and where you go to cap the flag are significantly altered. Life is just a time trial; it's all about how many happy points you can earn in a set period of time Share this post Link to post

alphabetagamma Posted November 24, 2011 Rarity decided to go to some hideous 24/7 instant respawn 2fort server. For some reason I joined him. I don't think I can play TF2 again for at least a week. It's so depressing. CTF is basically gametype that rewards the defense (a.k.a. everyone) and punishes anybody foolish enough to actually try to capture the flag (a.k.a. you). Since your entire team of engineers, W+M1 pyros, WC snipers and failspys don't seem to be very interested in actually capturing the flag you try going scout. You make your way past the 2 enemy sentries and finally make your way to the intel room only to find another sentry waiting for you. The only class left with any chance of getting past the sentry armada and sniper firing line is the spy you become another failspy that thinks they can actually play well. What a fun game type. Are you joking? 6v6 is for scrubs. Division 1 pros play 24/7 instaspawn 2Fort. Seriously, I feel your agony since I used to be an avid 2Fort player. I've not played it in quite a while, instead loving payload and some CP maps (pretty much anything except for Spambowl). Is it just me, or do payload teams always seem to be beautifully organized, CP teams are ok, and CTF teams are nightmarish? Do you feel blame? Are you mad? The Scoutman Posted November 24, 2011 I guess its because payload is less affected by the number of players on the server and the respawn time. Payloads maps are usually wide and open, it is hard to create an indestructable sentry nest that prevents the enemy team from pushing the cart, the spawn distance to the cart is usually balanced between the teams so even low respawn times dont ruin the game. That pretty much fix the flaws to your average CTF map (a.k.a 2fort) and your average CP map (a.k.a Dustbowl). Kirkreng Posted November 24, 2011 Payload is my fav game mode. Pretty much the only one I play. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Share this post Link to post
The Scoutman Posted November 25, 2011 I persoanally have found myself to be a fan of the Arena mode The future of gaming lies in realistic simulations of extraordinary realities "I am drunk, you dont have an excuse" Share this post Link to post
Karl Posted November 25, 2011 My favorite game mode is probably Attack/Defend. Except for Junction. Ugh....I hate that jumbled mess of a map. Share this post Link to post
Blightmare Posted November 25, 2011 Attack/defend is my favorite as well. I used to like arena but I really got sick of it after a while. Cannot stand it at all anymore. Retired Forum Moderator Share this post Link to post
The Scoutman Posted November 25, 2011 Arena gets boring if you always play with the same classes in the same maps. I found a modded server called "The Randomizer Arena", it combines a mod where you receive a random class with random weapons after every respawn, with the Arena gameplay, it hardly get boring or gets dominated by 1 team because everyone was lucky enough to receive rocket launcers, since after 1 short arena round is over, all the weapons and classes get scrambled again. I wont recommend anyone to check this out right now because, since the Uber Update i have been suffering a lot of crashes, i thought Valve would fix it, so far nothing has changed, so i will uninstall all the mods i have and see if one of them is responsable for the crashes. Karl Posted November 25, 2011 I've been playing randomizer since the uber update, it's been working fine for me. Share this post Link to post
Epsilon Posted November 25, 2011 I don't like the Randomizer mod since it's extremely luck oriented. Inexperienced players will often win over veterans since they have the better loadout. For example, a Scout with a rocket launcher and Sticky Launcher will win against a Pyro with a syringe gun and pistol. Even though I'm sort of dropping the context given how goofy it's obviously meant to be... Do you feel blame? Are you mad? Uh, do you feel like wolf kabob Roth vantage? alphabetagamma Posted November 25, 2011 Yeah, I've tried randomizer before and I didn't like it. It was annoying being stuck as an engineer that can't upgrade your buildings because you got stuck with fists. Or how the other team has a scout with a backburner and knife and destroys your team. And how it has to be arena mode. I always get killed in the first three seconds and end up waiting for the match to crawl to it's end. Share this post Link to post
The Scoutman Posted November 25, 2011 Well, i do like playing randomizer once in a while, i guess the waiting for the match to end doesnt really bother me because im already used to do it. Blue Posted November 27, 2011 Whenever I see a ranked strange weapon, I always think "Face-melting" is the best rank, because it reminds me of this entry in the Propaganda Contest: Best Attempt to Make Soldier Look Melting This is a nice metric server.
