Epsilon Posted November 15, 2011 So I tried playing Demo a week or so ago and I'm not too good. If anyone could give me some essential strategies, it'd be great. Do you feel blame? Are you mad? Blue Posted November 17, 2011 I love my jorb being a Heavy. This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please. Share this post Link to post
Axeldeath Posted November 17, 2011 Unless I'm with someone I know that's never happened to me. Share this post Link to post
Blue Posted November 19, 2011 Being a good Heavy or a good Medic is not you playing one way and expecting others to live to a standard. It's compromise on both sides to work with both your habits and their methods. if done perfectly, it's like marriage in that the compromise has you working entirely in tandem, not 50/50 but 100/100. (That's 200% effectiveness mother trucker) It's happened to me before, I playing Medic and healing a Heavy and both of us moving and thinking to the same tune, we took down like two other players, blew an Uber early in the face of another Heavy/Medic (who ubered), and still ended up taking down four other players AND the other Heavy/Medic. 'Twas a good day on Upward, and it was just a random pub server I joined, with some guy I'd never played with before. This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please. Karl Posted November 19, 2011 I've got a name tag lying about, I want to use it on my strange medigun. Any ideas? Share this post Link to post
Blightmare Posted November 19, 2011 I thought yours was already named. O_o fought a spy yesterday who was so atrociously bad and obvious that it was more like a passive action to kill him than anything else. This guy was accusing everyone who killed him as a hacker. If only he wasn't so damn obvious about it. Retired Forum Moderator Share this post Link to post
Karl Posted November 19, 2011 Nah, that was my regular medigun. I got a Strange Medigun like the beginning of this week. Share this post Link to post
Blightmare Posted November 19, 2011 ah I see. That's a darn good question as I really now of no references to make with the medigun. At least not right now, I'll have to think about it. I should get a nametag and description tag and just name one of my weapons "does he look like a bitch?" and make the description "what?" Why? because I can. Blightmare Posted November 20, 2011 I have a new quest. One I will devote my life to. I will drop out of school and quit my job to complete this. My quest is simple on paper. I aim to find a 2Fort match that doesn't include the following: a) Severely incompetent F2P who refuse to learn or do anything remotely useful. b) Team stacking ranked competitive players looking to stroke their ego. c) All of the above. As you can see, I'll be gone awhile. I'll miss you all. Retired Forum Moderator Share this post Link to post

Blue Posted November 21, 2011 I don't like 2Fort. Like many official maps, it's in its prime when it has between 8 and 14 players on the server, and any more or less than that ruins the experience unless you undertake unconventional or non-competitive gameplay. Any more than 16 and 2fort because a snorefest bore because even if your team is well coordinated then it becomes no give and all take, steamrolling them round after round, and if their defense is too high (like seven engineers) then it too becomes a idiotic as nothing happens, and contrariwise if your team is the one that's doing it. Worse still if it's a server essentially only consisting of Engineers. This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please. Share this post Link to post
Collective Foal Posted November 21, 2011 Yeah, 2Fort is a shitty, stalemate inducing map. Valve really should have added an alternate entrance to the intel room. I'm terrible at mapping, but my idea was to make a sewer line that extends from the staircase that goes from sewer to base, connecting it to a room similar to the one in the sewer, underneath the base. Then, if you head out and turn right, you come to the enemy intel room. It's hard to explain in words, but it would help to take down intel tanking engies and getting intel without pushing through the entire base. This would also decentralize battle areas, making it so good Snipers on the battlements become ineffective and choke points like the courtyard aren't impossible to bypass. Blightmare Posted November 21, 2011 I gave up. So painful. I can only handle 2fort once in a while. Rage-inducing Sniper Rifle! I wish my sniping moments weren't so bipolar. awesome one minute, terribad the next. Retired Forum Moderator Share this post Link to post
Kirkreng Posted November 21, 2011 Screw fort, in my opinion it is the Rust/Shipment(90% of the fighting goes on in the tiny area around the bridge) of TF2. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Share this post Link to post
Collective Foal Posted November 21, 2011 The other 10% is on the rare occasion that anyone makes it into the enmy's base. Then the fighting is in the ridiculously tight hallways in the first floor of the base.
